There are some things we know about the left. They do not willingly cede power. They will do anything fair or foul to keep that power. We know the left is terrified right now because not only are they going to lose the White House, they are probably going to lose the Senate too.
So what is the left’s October Surprise to try and save their power?
It could be the so-called “Frankenstorm” Sandy.
A reporter has already asked Jay Carney, the chief White House propagandist, about this. Is the President thinking about moving the election date, the breathless member of the Obama Propaganda Media asked Carney?
Carney at least claimed surprise. “I don’t know the answer to that,” he said. He also did not know that the attack on our Consulate in Benghazi was a terrorist attack and not a reaction to an unknown film.
Carney is your typical clueless liberal journalist. So was the unnamed reporter who asked that question.
When people think of postponing elections because of disasters, many think of 9/11. That was the date New Yorkers were going to the polls to pick a new Mayor. Rudi Giuliani was not running for reelection and because of the attack, rescheduled the elections.
Could Barack Obama reschedule the elections?
He would certainly like to, as some of the hardest hit areas are some blue states. Some of the bluest parts of Pennsylvania are being hit and he might need those votes to carry the Keystone State. If he loses Pennsylvania, it will be a short night for Obama. Some of the bluest parts of Virginia are also being hit. While losing Virginia might not doom Obama’s chances, a win in Virginia is essential for Mitt Romney.
Unfortunately for Obama and the clueless journalists, there is this thing called the Constitution. Article Two, Clause Four of the Constitution does not set the date for elections. Instead, it vests the Congress, not the President, with the authority to set the election date.
Could Obama use Sandy as an excuse to try and do something with the elections to help him?
He would certainly like to if he thinks it would help him either win or steal the election.
This election may be decided on the amount of fraud Democrats can create. They excel at getting unelected Federal Judges to order local officials to ignore the plainly written law for such things as poll closing times.
Obama has gone back to the White House to try and look “Presidential.” He is in the situation room, and even went on national TV to tell people the obvious. Perhaps he is auditioning for a future roll after 2013 on The Weather Channel. He made a mysterious trip to Florida a few days ago and promptly turned around without campaigning. While the Benghazi Consulate was being attacked, and Americans were dying, Obama was turning in early so he could go to Las Vegas to raise funds for his campaign. Perhaps he realized even the Obama Propaganda Media could not spin him campaigning while a record storm was about to pound the nation.
We are now a week away from the election and the chances of a “wag the dog” scenario seem less likely. One of the reasons for this is the great skepticism Americans have for Obama and the real possibility that such a stunt would backfire.
But Sandy provides the excuse or perhaps the chaos the party that created the slogan, “Vote early and Vote often” needs to do that it does best.
Namely engage in voter fraud to try and steal the election that Barack Obama is now badly losing.
