| Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, fell on the sword to try to isolate the President from the growing scandal in the aftermath of the killing of our Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other brave Americans in Benghazi, Libya. ‘”I take full responsibility for the security of our Embassy’s”, she told reporters.
State Department officials had previously reported denying requests for additional security for our Diplomats in Libya. Why these repeated desires for protection were denied, when it was known of the obvious danger faced by them, the September 11 anniversary, and a call for revenge by the Al Qaeda leader is beyond comprehension. Assuming that the “buck stops” with Ms. Clinton, what reason other than gross ineptitude could have led to that unfortunate decision which ultimately resulted in the death of four compatriots. Also, knowing that our policy in the Middle East had become a source of pride for our President, who over and over claimed his achievement of killing Bin Laden, decimating Al Qaeda, and delivering Democracy to the region, why not inform him of the growing dangers in Libya? It does not pass the smell test. And, if Obama knew, why did he not act to secure our Diplomats? Incompetence? Politics? In the Congress hearing, and in sworn testimony, it was said that the attack on the consulate was watched in real time with obvious evidence that there were no crowds, that it was deliberate and well organized with an immediate conclusion of it being a terrorist action. Are we to believe that the “intelligence community” was not aware of these State Dpt. recordings until many days later? Was UN representative Susan Rice acting on their assessment when appearing on 5 different Sunday talk shows? Is our intelligence community that inept? Or is this a cover up on the verge of Presidential elections? We, the public, deserve answers. A true leader assumes responsibility for the actions of his subordinates, and faces the citizens who gave him the power to protect us, directly, with the truth, not through Letterman and the View, and not pleading ignorance. That is a very poor excuse for the position that he holds.
