President Trump Wants to Increase the Pentagon’s Budget by $54 Billion

President Donald J. Trump

President Donald J. Trump is developing a federal budget that would increase $54 billion to the defense budget. The increase would be made possible by significant cuts elsewhere in the federal government, particularly to the State Department and its foreign aid division. The budget for the State Department and Agency for International Development (AID) this year is approximately $50 billion. The Trump administration is proposing to cut spending by 37% for the State Department and the Agency for International Development budget.

President Donald J. Trump stated in a Fox News interview broadcast on February 28, 2017 that he believes the extra $54 billion dollars he has proposed spending on the Armed Forces will be offset by a stronger economy as well as cuts in other areas. President Trump said the following: “I think the money is going to come from a revved up economy. I mean you look at the kind of numbers we’re doing, we were probably GDP of a little more than 1% and if I can get that up to 3% maybe more, we have a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different ball game.”

Russia is America’s Number One Enemy and China is Number Two

Frank de Varona wrote the book, The Gathering Threat of Russia, China, and Their Allies Against America (2016)

As this writer explained in his sixth book on the Obama-Hillary Clinton administration, President Barack Obama has made the United States a superpower in complete retreat in the world. He reduced the Armed Forces budget by $55 billion for several years. As a result all the enemies of America, including Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, and radical Islam have been emboldened. Russia and its ally China have significantly improved their Armed Forces and nuclear arsenals with new weapons.

Russia has annexed part of Georgia, Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula, and occupied parts of eastern Ukraine. China has built military bases on islands in the South China Sea that belong to U.S. allies. China claims illegally as its territory 90% of the South China Sea and claims islands that belong to Japan in the East China Sea.

Both China and Russia are harassing U.S. aircrafts and Navy ships around the world. These nations and their allies represent an existential threat to America. This writer discussed the reasons why America needs to drastically increase the budget of the Pentagon and improve the nuclear arsenal and missiles to match or exceed the better-equipped Russian and Chinese missiles and other weapons.

Anti-ballistic missile defense must be improved. Failure to do so will severely endanger the national security of the United States. This writer is delighted that President Trump has proposed an increase $54 billion to the defense budget.

Military weakness would invite aggression from the dictators who ruled Russia and China. This writer revealed in his book how Russia and China are developing hypersonic glide vehicles to defeat the increasingly sophisticated anti-ballistic missile (ABM) defense of the United States and its allies. These two enemy nations are ahead in the development of hypersonic weapons.

The nation that achieves mastery of hypersonic weapons first will overturn the principles of how wars are waged. The development of hypersonic weapons is similar to the development of nuclear arms. America is in great danger as the balance of military power has shifted against it. The only area that America has superior weapons is in space. Russia and China are working diligently to develop weapons superior to America in space such as the hypersonic glide vehicles.

In this writer’s book, The Gathering Threat of Russia, China, and Their Allies Against America, he explained how Vladimir Putin has frequently threatened nuclear war against America and its allies. It is very important for Americans to understand that Russia is the number one geopolitical enemy of America. Equally important is to know that Russia is using jihadists throughout the world as a weapon against the United States and the West.

China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and other nations are waging successful cyber warfare against America and stealing its industrial and military secrets. Another serious threat to America is an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event provoked either from an atomic bomb exploded high in space in the middle of America or from solar flares that would destroy all electronics and the electrical grid of America and would result in the death of between 80% to 90% of Americans in a few months due to starvation. Former President Obama failed to protect the nation and as result America, at all levels, is unprepared for an EMP nuclear attack or an EMP provoked by solar flares despite their catastrophic consequences.

Russia has violated with impunity the New START nuclear agreement

The Department of State has reported that Russia increased its deployed nuclear warheads over the past six months under a strategic arms reduction treaty as Obama ordered America nuclear warhead stocks to be reduced sharply. Since April 2016 Russia has added 61 new nuclear warheads. Incredibly, former President Obama ordered the Pentagon during the same period to reduce our deployed nuclear warheads by 114. Obviously, this ill-advised action has increased the disparity between America and Russia and has seriously endangered our national security.

Bill Gertz wrote an article titled “Russia Adds Hundreds of Warheads under Nuclear Treaty” which was published in the Washington Free Beacon website on October 4, 2016. The reporter explained that Russia’s nuclear warhead increases since 2011 suggest Putin does not intend to cut its nuclear forces and will abandon the New START arms treaty as part of a major nuclear buildup.

Vladimir Putin increased drastically the budget of his Armed Forces and currently Russia has more nuclear warheads than America.

Gertz pointed out that Mark Schneider, a former Pentagon nuclear weapons specialist now with the National Institute for Policy, said that in his opinion it is now highly unlikely that Russia intends to comply with New START. Schneider said the following: “Moscow appears to be on a path to doubling its warheads. With or without New START, Russian deployed strategic nuclear warheads are likely to increase to 3,000 by 2030. I think it is also clear that the Obama administration has an unannounced program to implement Obama’s proposed one-third reduction in strategic nuclear forces from the New START level unilaterally.

Gertz explained that the strategic military balance that existed in 2011 when the treaty was approved has now been reversed by Russian increases and U.S. cuts. In 2011, the United States had a lead of 263 deployed warheads, America now has 429 deployed warheads below Russia. The Russians will think this is quite important. It could impact Putin’s willingness to take risks.”

Gertz wrote that the nuclear buildup is raising new fears Putin is planning to break out of New START treaty limits rather than comply with the accord. Russian forces have deployed 249 warheads above the warhead limit set by the treaty to be reached by February 2018. Since the treaty went into effect in 2011, Russia increased its total warhead stockpile from 1,537 warheads to 1,796 warheads, an increase of 259 warheads. At the same time the Obama administration has cut U.S. nuclear forces by 433 warheads during the same period.

It is obvious that former President Obama willfully and deliberately downgraded America military superiority making America a lesser superpower. Gertz wrote that Air Force General John E. Hyten, nominee to be the next commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, warned the Senate during a hearing in September 2016 that Russia is modernizing both its strategic and tactical nuclear weapons.

General Hyten stated the following to the Senate Armed Services Committee: “It seems clear that Russia has been making large investments in its nuclear weapon programs as well as modernizing both its strategic and non-strategic nuclear weapons. In addition to advancing nuclear capabilities, Russia is emphasizing new regional and strategic approaches, and declaring and demonstrating its ability to escalate if required. Collectively, Russian development of advancing weapons capabilities and its evolving war fighting doctrine is concerning.”

Gertz explained the following: “Under New START, the United States and Russia agreed to reduce deployed nuclear warheads to 1,550 warheads. Deployed land-based and submarine-launched missiles and bombers will be cut to 700. Missile launchers and non-deployed heavy bombers will be reduced to 800. While U.S. nuclear forces are very old and in need of modernization, Russian nuclear forces are being modernized. By 2020, nuclear missile submarines, land-based missiles, and bombers will be modernized, with 70 percent of the nuclear forces replaced with advanced systems, according to U.S. officials.”

Russia abandoned the 2000 agreement on plutonium reduction

Russia announced on October 4, 2016 that it abandoned a 2000 agreement to reduce stockpiles of plutonium originally intended for nuclear weapons. Gertz said that Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said of the Russian rejection of the plutonium agreement, “We’re disappointed with their decision.” Gertz wrote that other alarming signs of Russian nuclear weapons advances include intelligence reports that Moscow is expanding underground nuclear command. This is a violation of the New START treaty. Putin is also planning to double its nuclear warhead stockpiles for new multiple-warhead missiles.

Poll shows support for President Trump has increased and that he has done what he has promised

Fifty-six percent of voters believe President Donald Trump is delivering on his campaign promises, while 27 percent disagree, a new Politico/Morning Consult poll revealed.

The rest of the highlights of the poll are as follows: “50% of voters approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 45% disapprove. 69% said Trump has accomplished at least what they expected or more, compared to 20 percent who say he has accomplished less.”

It is obvious that former President Obama, with the help of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has willfully and deliberately downgraded America military superiority making America a lesser superpower. Both of them have weakened American power abroad. Both have allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate our government and society. This was treason and dereliction of duty!

The Middle East is in flames. The Islamic State is stronger around the world. America and its European allies are being attacked by Islamic terrorists. Russia and China are committing aggression unimpeded around the world. The disastrous Obama and Clinton legacies fostered danger and insecurity abroad. Both have seriously endangered our national security.

President Donald J. Trump will reverse the immense damage done by Obama and Clinton. President Trump promised to rebuild our military and his Pentagon’s budget proposal shows it. Our survival is at stake! We need America to be resurgent and not America in decline!
