Trump Signs Law Fighting Sex-Trafficking — But The Woman Behind Him Steals The Show.

President Donald Trump signed into law Wednesday a bill that would combat online sex-trafficking, but as he signed it, all eyes were on the woman standing directly behind him.

“It’s about damn time,” she said, and she broke into a few dance moves as the president signed the law.

The woman, who was introduced only as “M.A.,” was kidnapped and sold on the internet — through backpage.com — in 2010. She was the first to sue Village Voice Media, who owned backpage at the time, and she was unsuccessful. She believes she has finally been vindicated.

H.R. 1865, the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act, will fight online sex traffickers by removing protections for certain platforms where sex workers have been known to advertise.

President Trump offered his encouragement to the survivors and families present at the signing as well.

“I want to thank you for your courage, and thank you for helping survivors across our country,” Trump said. “And you are not alone. You are not alone.  And this is a very important day. If we work together, we can get the criminal traffickers off our streets and off of the Internet. We can bring safety and hope to every community across the country, and we can create a culture that respects the dignity of every child of God.”
