Valerie Jarrett Named in Benghazi — and Liberals Go Nuts

Chip Jones at the Conservative Report has written an article saying that sources in the know have confirmed that Valerie Jarrett, not President Obama, gave an order to military forces to stand down on the night the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, was attacked, leaving four Americans dead.

ValerieJarrett12The story was picked up by Rush Limbaugh, whose audience numbers in the millions, so now liberals are bending over backwards to attack Limbaugh, the original article and its writer.

Media Matters, with all the furious intellectual energy of a toy poodle, condemns the original article as “evidence-free” and blasts its use of anonymous sources.

Because media outlets like the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, CNN, ABC, etc. NEVER EVER use anonymous sources. And nobody who works for this Administration could possibly be fearful of retaliation if they speak out.

The liberal media tactic on Benghazi — and other Obama scandals — has been to ignore the story, then leak a little piece of information, then claim the new info is old news (because conservative media covered it six months before), then go back to ignoring the story until time comes for the next leak.

Meanwhile, to handle the conservative upstarts, the strategy is deny, deny, deny. Media Matters even denies there was an order to stand down, even though troops were ready to go assist in Benghazi.

That denial is based on testimony of the commander of a four-member squad who asked to go to Benghazi and was ordered to stay in Tripoli. So, no, the words “stand down” weren’t used in front of that particular squad commander, therefore in Media Matters logic, there was no such order at all.

And this is backed up by no less than Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, who said: “They weren’t told to stand down. A stand down means don’t do anything. They were told to — that the mission they were asked to perform was not in Benghazi but was at Tripoli Airport.”

See? They weren’t told to “stand down,” just “don’t go.”

In other words, it depends what the definition of “is” is.

Media Matters, which is to journalism what the street sweeper is to a parade, is still peddling the notion that President Obama called Benghazi an act of terrorism within a day or two of the event, and that Susan Rice did not lie to the United Nations.

Given the track record, the MSM won’t admit there was a stand-down order for at least several more months, if ever, and when it does come out on CNN, it will be deflected then re-buried.

Whether Jarrett gave the order is something we may not find out for years because it is blatantly outside the law. Only the president is allowed to give that order in that situation.

But Jarrett has always been Morgan le Fey to Obama’s Mordred, the real power behind the throne, so who knows?

Being in the middle of a worldwide terror alert, on the other hand, might be the perfect time to leak such a story to a small-time outlet like Conservative Report with a built-in mistrust among the Left, so that when CNN finally covers the story months from now, it’s more easily dismissed.
