DC Mayor submits to Muslim Brotherhood-CAIR’s Demands and Designates October “America’s Islamic Heritage Month’

More institutionalized dawah (proselytizing for Islam) is coming your way, or more specifically, your tender child’s way.

Our public schools are encouraged to learn about America’s rich Islamic history, to teach tolerance and understanding, and to visit AIHM museum.

Where does America’s Islamic history begin in US history? With Thomas Jefferson‘s war against the jihad (America’s first and second foreign wars) on the Barbary coast? In 1979 with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s attack on the US embassy and the taking of our hostages? Perhaps the Islamic attack on our Marines in Beirut in ’83 and the slaughter of 241 Marines. The Cole? Khobar Towers? September 11th? The  Islamic attacks on the World Trade center, the Pentagon and the thwarted attack on the Capitol? Or is Fort Hood? The Boston Marathon? Benghazi? Or these memorable moments?

These are the Islamic contributions to America.

Mayor Of Nation’s Capital Declares October ‘Islamic Heritage Month’ Independent Journal Review, October 3, 2013

CAIR press release:

D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gary [sic] (The mayor’s name is “Gray,” people) Issues Proclamation Honoring October as America’s Islamic Heritage Month

District of Columbia, October 1, 2013: America’s Islamic Heritage Museum (AIHM) announced the Mayor of the District of Columbia issuing a Proclamation honoring the month of October as America’s Islamic Heritage month.

This year is the eighth annual celebration of October as America’s Islamic Heritage month in the District. This year’s theme is ”Connecting People Using Culture and History.”

The Mayor calls upon all the residents of this great City to join him in celebration and recognition of the history and contributions of the Islamic Community.

The Muslim communities throughout our region are encouraged to host open houses and educational events that highlight our diversity, contributions, and history. Our public schools are encouraged to learn about America’s rich Islamic history, to teach tolerance and understanding, and to visit AIHM museum.

Call me cynical, but is it really non-Muslims who need to be taught “tolerance and understanding” of  Islam – or is it the other way around? Yeah, I know how liberals love to label conservatives as “Islamophobes,” but the facts are the facts, are they not?

Here’s the deal: When “moderate” Muslims begin to condemn – publicly – the atrocities committed in the name of their religion (See: Kenyan mall attack, for the latest example), maybe my “tolerance and understanding” will be on the up-tick. Until then, not so much.

Incidentally, no word on whether the mayor of Tehran has issued a similar proclamation declaring October as “Christian Heritage Month.”
