Granting Amnesty Will Be the Next Obamacare

Most Americans want Washington to focus on fixing our struggling economy and decreasing the federal budget deficit.

So why is the Obama administration focusing on ramming through an amnesty bill? Because an amnesty bill will divert attention from Obamacare’s mounting failures.

Unfortunately for the American people, this “comprehensive” immigration legislation would be just as dysfunctional as Obamacare. The Heritage Foundation’s Cameron Seward explains how this amnesty plan would be just as costly as Obamacare:

As we continue to see with Obamacare, the American people are always at the losing end of these monstrous pieces of legislation.

An all-or-nothing approach to immigration reform will hurt Americans by disregarding the rule of law and costing taxpayers trillions in benefits and services for those granted amnesty, while not guaranteeing enforcement of laws already on the books.

A complicated amnesty bill like the one liberals are pushing would essentially be Obamacare 2.0 — another unworkable, unfair, and unaffordable piece of legislation. For a positive path forward to immigration reform, check out Heritage’s plan.

After the failures of Obamacare, do you think the Obama administration can handle complicated legislation like its immigration reform proposal?
