So, Obama gave a speech on Thursday where he announced that he was going to unilaterally authorize insurance companies to ignore the law and sell health insurance policies that have been canceled and/or are illegal under Obamacare.

Pundits and legal scholars have noted the unconstitutionality of this and wondered if anyone would stop Obama from following through on this dictate.

That dictate now may be moot since Republicans have just passed Rep. Fred Upton’s Keep Your Health Plan Act in the House. Then again, it might not.

We still have to see what the Senate will do with Upton’s bill and Obama has already threatened to veto it. Furthermore, I have no idea how insurance companies will handle what is happening.

Nevertheless, this isn’t the only lawlessness by the Obama regime and the Democratic Party.

When the government slimdown occurred just a few weeks ago the Obama regime forced shutdowns of government parks and memorials. The regime even shutdown parks it did not operate and monuments that required it to spend money to barricade — monuments that normally have no need for government involvement. Yet at the same time, the Obama regime granted illegal aliens access to the National Mall.

In other words, the Obama regime banned U.S. citizens from visiting their own monuments and parks even as it opened them to alien invaders which it celebrated and supported.

More recently, the Democratic mayor and city council of Santa Fe showed their willingness to encourage illegal behavior to fight economic advancement. The Washington Free Beacon reported the following in, “Mayor Against Illegal Guns Endorses Criminal Activity:”

The Democratic mayor and legislature of a New Mexico city hundreds of miles from the southern leg of the Keystone pipeline on Thursday officially endorsed illegal activity as a means to stop the pipeline’s continued construction.

The Santa Fe, N.M., city council voted on Thursday to endorse “civil disobedience” as a means to urge President Barack Obama to reject Canadian oil company TransCanada’s application with the State Department for the construction of the pipeline’s northern leg.

Meanwhile, back at the federal level, The Los Angeles Times reported that, “Interior secretary says Obama may bypass Congress on monuments:”

Interior Secretary Sally Jewell says she will recommend that President Obama act alone if necessary to create new national monuments and sidestep a gridlocked Congress that has failed to address dozens of public lands bills.

Jewell said the logjam on Capitol Hill has created a conservation backlog, and she warned that the Obama administration would not “hold its breath forever” waiting for lawmakers to act.

“The president will not hesitate,” Jewell said in an interview in San Francisco last week. “I can tell you that there are places that are ripe for setting aside, with a tremendous groundswell of public support.”

Some Republican congressmen have just introduced a resolution calling for the impeachment of Attorney General Eric Holder. They should add Sally Jewell to their resolution. At best, she is incompetent and doesn’t understand that Congress has a right not to do whatever the president wishes. At worst, she is an utter authoritarian who believes that Obama should get whatever he wants and how that’s done doesn’t matter.

All these things, of course, came on top of the regime and the Democratic Party screaming that Republicans and conservatives were “anarchists” and “lawless” for legally trying to stop the abomination that is Obamacare.

There isn’t anything to be done to get the Obama regime or Democrats to change their ways, of course, so the only thing left to do is to keep pressure on Republicans to push back and fight against them even if they don’t want to do so.

And then the grassroots citizenry needs to concentrate on the 2014 elections, which become increasingly important each day.

Simply put, the Democratic Party hates the law and needs to be driven from public office.
