CDC: Passenger from Liberia Hospitalized in New Jersey for ‘Potential Exposure to Ebola’

The traveler went from Liberia to Brussels to Newark Liberty International Airport before setting off a “flurry of activity” near University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, reports The Record.

“During the enhanced screening process for individuals arriving to the United States from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, an individual was identified as reporting symptoms of having a potential exposure to Ebola,” said CDC spokesperson Carol Crawford.

News of the New Jersey Ebola scare comes as the Republican Doctors Caucus, made up of 16 physician and nurse legislators, sent President Barack Obama a letter on Tuesday urging him to temporarily halt travel into the U.S. from Ebola-ravaged countries.
