One evil man had the audacity to attack Christianity and defend Islam in the midst of 3,500 Christians at the recent National Prayer Breakfast.
Many criticized and complained about Barack Obamaâs speech afterward, but not a single Christian in that room had the courage to speak âtruth to power.â Why is that?
Evil operates through people, and it does what itâs supposed to do. Evil lies, seduces, divides and gives false illusions in order to conquer. God is greater than Satan. If we were truly Godâs children, we would have the wisdom to overcome evil with good. But most âgoodâ people lack the understanding and courage to stand up to evil when it counts. Instead, they allow evil to have its way and then whimper about it afterward. What good does that serve?
Christians are not conquering evil because most are resentful and unrepentant. Many Christians have the false illusion that they are saved from sin, but if that were true, good would be crushing evil across the land. We all know thatâs not the case.
Instead of questioning why weâre losing, Christians are hanging on to illusions about what they think they know. Most people donât want their illusion of âgoodnessâ pulled away, and thatâs the problem. If you try to tear down the misconception of who they think they are, theyâll get angry and turn on you.
If the children of God were doing what weâre supposed to do, evil would be complaining about us â that weâre too committed to guiding our families and that itâs too hard to seduce us away from truth.
I regularly pose a âbiblical question of the weekâ to my radio audience. These are questions Iâve been pondering myself, and Iâm sincerely seeking feedback from my listeners to encourage them to examine what they think they know. For example, I recently asked my audience: âWhat does it mean to be born in sin? What is the sin you were born into?â
I receive truckloads of calls and emails in response to these types of questions from people who know the Bible inside and out. Their answers sound good, but when I question them they often get irritated and revert to quoting scripture.
Iâve come to realize that many well-meaning Christians have stored up knowledge about the Bible, but the truth is not alive in them. And when theyâre challenged to think a little deeper about what they believe, their foundation begins to crumble.
âEvery one that heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand.â â Matthew 7:26
Our pride and refusal to face our illusions causes us to spend a lifetime building a life on a weak foundation. Christians have allowed evil to take God out of the public schools; theyâve allowed their tax dollars to be used to fund abortions; and now evil is attacking the holy institution of marriage.
In Alabama where 80 percent of the residents oppose same-sex marriage, homosexual activists are pushing to legalize it. If Christians lose ground in Alabama, we donât stand a chance elsewhere.
A telltale sign that a person does not know God is that they lack the courage to speak up when evil is acting out. (The silence heard during Obamaâs derisive National Prayer Breakfast speech was deafening.)
Dr. Ben Carson displayed courage when he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast in 2013. Carson fearlessly pointed out Obamaâs lawlessness and contempt for the U.S. Constitution while Obama squirmed in his seat.
Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC, displayed courage when he shouted the words âYou lie!â during an Obama State of the Union address. Wilson had the courage to say what most were thinking but were afraid to say.
Barack Obama and others like him have a direct connection to evil; whereas too often people serving God are not directly connected to truth. This is why Obama can lie and push his destructive agenda and mercilessly attack our freedoms and sacred institutions.
Christians should not be content blaming politicians or any other physical entity for their problems. The problems we need to face are not physical; theyâre spiritual. Unless we repent of our false illusions and what we think we know, and instead re-establish a real connection with our heavenly Father, itâs all for naught. Until we do this, we canât help our children, our nation or ourselves.
We need to turn back to the Father and repent in order for things to get better. Then He will guide our steps. We will no longer be controlled by our illusions, and we will have the courage to stand against evil anywhere it rears its ugly head.
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND), is the most courageous, outspoken critic of the liberal left and the so-called “black leadership” in America today. Often referred to as the “antidote to Jesse Jackson”, Jesse Peterson is also the man behind the National Boycott of the NAACP, believing the organization to be nothing more than a tool of the “elite, socialist” elements of the liberal elite.Â
