The Genocide of Christians Continues

The conspiracy of silence regarding the genocide against Christians in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia

More than one million Christians have been assassinated, shot, crucified, decapitated, thrown overboard from boats to drown or burned alive during the last decade. Recently, a boat full of immigrants from African trying to reach Italy as illegal aliens threw off the boat Christian Africans leaving only Muslims aboard. Examples like this of the murders against Christians are occurring in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. Millions of Christians have fled the Middle East to avoid being killed. However, there seems to be a conspiracy of silence in the United States and Europe with respect to this ongoing horrific genocide.

Each hour, 11 Christians are killed in the Middle East. In 2000, the Christian population in the Middle East was 20%. Today, it is barely 3%. The media in the United States and Europe barely discusses this shameful genocide and systematic ethnic cleaning of Christians. Unless the press writes about this genocide, people in the West are not going to demand their governments to stop it.

President Obama is fearful to discuss the Christian genocide for fear of offending Muslims. The president would not even use the word

“Islamic terrorists” and has forbidden the use of that word by members of his administration. He has never spoken clearly to the nation about the immense danger of radical Islam. Yet, this conspiracy of silence must be broken! Future generations would look at our beloved country and the West and wonder why our government and the governments of the nations of Europe did very little to help Christians in the Middle East. How many more thousands of Christians need to die, Christian women raped and sold into slavery, and their churches burned for the United States and the West to act?

Congress passed a bipartisan bill creating the position of Special Envoy to promote religious freedom and denounce human rights violations
Alarmed by the genocide of Christians in the Middle East and elsewhere, Congress passed a bipartisan bill in the summer of 2014 creating the position of Special Envoy for Religious Minorities in the Middle East and South Central Asia in the Department of State. This Special Envoy will report to Secretary of State John Kerry. The duties of the Special Envoy would include monitoring religious intolerance, promoting religious freedom, and the announcing human rights violations. This diplomat would try to protect and preserve Christians and members of other non-Islamic faiths in predominantly Islamic countries.

President Barack Obama shamefully has not named anyone to this position. On the contrary, the president constantly criticizes Christianity even during Easter and blames the crusaders for being violent and committing many crimes without mentioning that the Christian crusaders from Europe went to Israel to expel the Arabs that had conquered it. While President Obama has never spoken on the enormous Christian genocide going on in the world, he went to the United Nations and stated: “The world does not belong to those that blaspheme Prophet Mohamed.”

There is no question in this writer’s mind that Barack Obama is a hidden radical Muslim. Moreover, the president dislikes Christianity and he had effectively destroyed Christianity in the Armed Forces and in all the military academies even though many members of Congress have complained. The president has declared a war upon Christianity by forcing religious institutions to offer abortions, sterilizations, and contraceptives in their health plans to their employees under an ObamaCare regulation, even though doing that goes against their religious beliefs and is a violation of the freedom of religion.

On Easter, Pope Francis complained that the international community is ignoring the immense genocide going on against Christians. The pope stated that the world is “complicit in its silence” and it “is mute and inert in the face of such unacceptable crimes,” while Christians are being assassinated in an international jihad that extends from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the United States.

On April 20, 2015, 50 religious leaders, scholars, and human rights activists, including Reverend Samuel Rodriguez, President of the Hispanic Evangelical Association, and Nina Shea, director of the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, wrote a letter to the president requesting that he fill the vacant post of Special Envoy. They stated in the letter the following: “The breadth of support for the legislation underscores the urgency of the perils facing these communities. In the seven months since the legislation became law, discrimination, repression and outright violence against religious minorities has only escalated. We respectfully request that you swiftly fill the position. Doing so would signal to beleaguered communities in the Middle East, and beyond, that America stands by them.” A similar letter was sent by a bipartisan group of 43 members of Congress last week requesting that President Obama fill the position.

Susan Crabtree wrote an article entitled “Obama urged to act as slaughter of Christians escalate” which was published by the Washington Examiner on April 20, 2015. Crabtree explained that former Congressman Frank Wolf, Republican from Virginia, after leaving office last year founded the 21st century Wilberforce Initiative, nonprofit human rights group. Frank Wolf stated the following: “The crisis facing Christians and other vulnerable religious minorities in countries like Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Iran cannot be overstated. It is time for the president to follow through on his signature. There is no good reason not to appoint a special envoy.”

The Christian population in Iraq, which was estimated at one million and half under Saddam Hussein, has declined to fewer than 400,000. Christians in Syria who speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ, are being assassinated when al-Qaeda terror groups or the Islamic State invade and capture their villages. Syria’s dictator Bashar al- Assad has offered protection to Christians in that country.

ISIS Islamic Terrorists Beheaded 21 Coptic Christian Egyptians in Libya

A video showing the beheading of 21 Coptic Christian hostages was released on February 15, 2015 by Islamic terrorists in Libya affiliated with the Islamic State, also called ISIS or ISIL. Titled “A Message in Blood to the People of the Cross,” the video was stylistically similar to previous Islamic State videos. These horrific killings indicate the expansion of the Islamic Caliphate, which already controls about a third of Syria and Iraq, to Libya, a nation that is less than 500 miles from the southern tip of Italy. One of the terrorists in the video makes direct reference to that possibility by indicating that the group now plans to “conquer Rome.”

These Egyptian Christian men were workers from the city of Sirte who were captured in December 2014 and January 2015. The Egyptian government and the Coptic Church, which is based in Egypt, both confirmed the authenticity of the video of the executions.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi addressed the nation on February 15, 2015. He said that that he will continue the fight against terrorism and declared a seven-day mourning period. President el-Sissi said the following: “These cowardly actions will not undermine our determination. Egypt and the whole world are in a fierce battle with extremist groups carrying extremist ideology and sharing the same goals.” The Coptic Church released a statement asking Egyptian Coptic Christians to have “confidence that their great nation won’t rest without retribution for the evil criminals.”

The video showed the prisoners dressed in orange jumpsuits being led along a beach, each accompanied by a masked Islamic terrorist. One savage Islamic terrorist stated the following: “All crusaders: safety for you will be only wishes, especially if you are fighting us all together. Therefore, we will fight you all together. The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama Bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood.”

The 21 Coptic Christian Egyptian men were forced to kneel and then laid face-down and were simultaneously beheaded. An Islamic terrorist beast then pointed northward towards Europe and said, “We will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission.”

Libya is a nation which is rich in oil and short on labor. It has attracted poor Egyptian workers to find employment in that nation. Libya’s 2011 civil war left much of the country devastated and increased the need for skilled foreign workers. Egyptians took advantage at the opportunity. They are the largest single group of foreign workers in Libya. However, Egyptians, and Egyptian Coptic Christians in particular, have become frequent targets of Islamic terrorists who have overrun Libya’s two largest cities, Tripoli and Benghazi. The Egyptian government has responded by suspending most flights to Libya and issuing travel warnings.

Christians Prefer Death to IslamThis image made from a video released on February 15, 2015 by Islamic terrorists from ISIS shows 21 Coptic Christian hostages being taken to a beach in Libya to be beheaded. The Egyptian Christians laid face-down and were simultaneously beheaded in another horrific crime aimed at recruiting more savages to the Islamic caliphate.

Libya has become a failed state thanks to Barack Obama

Two governments rule in Libya, one in Tripoli, the nation’s capital, and one in Tobruk, near Libya’s border with Egypt. Several militias, with ties to al-Qaida and the Islamic State, control parts of the country. Libya has become completely anarchic thanks to the unwise and illegal United States military intervention in that nation by Obama in 2011. Libya is now in the process of splitting apart and has become a failed state.

The New York Times wrote an editorial entitled “What Libya’s Unraveling Means” on February 14, 2015. It stated the following:
“Largely overshadowed by the crises in Syria, Iraq and Ukraine, Libya’s unraveling has received comparatively little attention over the past few months. As this oil-rich nation veers toward complete chaos, world leaders would be wise to redouble efforts led by the United Nations to broker a power-sharing deal among warring factions.

A few of the Islamist groups vying for control in Libya have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and carried out the type of barbaric executions that have galvanized international support for the military campaign against the terrorist group in Iraq and Syria. The growth and radicalization of Islamist groups raise the possibility that large parts of Libya could become a satellite of the Islamic State.

“Libya has the same features of potentially becoming as bad as what we’re seeing in Iraq and Syria,” Bernardino León, the United Nations envoy to Libya, said in an interview. “The difference is that Libya is just a few miles away from Europe.”

Libya’s elected Parliament and its government, led by Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni, only has tenuous authority and control after having been thrown out of Tripoli last summer amid fighting between rival militias formed during the 2011 civil war that led to the ouster and execution of the longtime dictator Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi. The shell government that Mr. Thinni leads, which is recognized by the international community, currently operates out of the eastern city of Bayda, while the Parliament meets in the eastern port city of Tobruk. The Libya Dawn movement, a coalition of militias and political factions, has wrested control of the capital and established a rival government.

In recent days, Mr. Leon’s team has met with leaders from most of the warring factions, including militia leaders, in an attempt to negotiate. The United Nations hopes these negotiations will result in a cease-fire and eventually in a temporary united government. If the fighting continues, the country will very likely be partitioned and an economy, that might have had a chance to flourish, will completely collapse.
Last fall, an Islamist militant group in the eastern city of Derna announced that it had joined the Islamic State, which wants to establish a caliphate in Iraq and Syria. Soon afterward, groups in two other provinces followed suit. Fighters who identify themselves as part of the Islamic State have killed journalists and many other civilians. They took credit for the OMB 13 bombings that targeted the Egyptian and United Arab Emirates embassies in Tripoli. Last month, fighters linked to the Islamic State kidnapped 21 Egyptian the Christians (who were later beheaded, as stated earlier) and bombed the Corinthia Hotel in the capital, killing 10 people.

Aref Ali Nayed, the Libyan ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that the militants who have adopted the mantle of the Islamic State could start holding sway over less dogmatic Islamist factions and expand territorial control. “The Islamists have been very clever at rebranding,” he said. “They have learned the franchising model from McDonald’s. They give you the methodology, standards and propaganda material,” he added.

The chaos has paralyzed the economy of a country that has a relatively small population and abundant energy resources. The one industry that is booming is human smuggling. Taking advantage of the lawlessness, smugglers, who use Libya as a way station to move impoverished sub-Saharan African and Syrian refugees to Europe, have become increasingly brazen and reckless in their tactics and sent hundreds to their deaths.

If the diplomatic effort that is underway does not get traction within weeks, Mr. Leon said, it might be too late for the international community to make a difference. Libyans, who have been fighting since the end of the 2011 civil war, must attempt to reconcile and start the arduous process of building a functioning state. Western and regional leaders have limited time to put pressure on them by offering incentives and support for those willing to chart a new course. “Libya is falling apart. Politically, financially, the economic situation is disastrous,” Mr. Leon said. “I don’t think the country can bear a process of months,” he added.

What is missing in this editorial from the New York Times is the fact that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton assisted the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda affiliated terror militias in overthrowing the Qaddafi regime in Libya in 2011. At that time Qaddafi had become an ally of the United States in the War against Terror. It was for that very reason that al-Qaida and the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood wanted to kill Qaddafi. The war was entered by the United States under false pretenses to avoid a supposedly genocide of Libyans by Qaddafi and in violation of our Constitution.

We now know that the Pentagon opposed the military intervention in Libya but the war was pushed by the White House and the State Department, most likely influenced by members of the Muslim Brotherhood who have infiltrated the Obama administration. The misguided U.S. intervention in the Libyan civil war was against the interest of our nation and it was unnecessary since Qaddafi wanted to resign and both Obama and Clinton refused to enter into negotiations with him. Obama allowed one billion dollars in weapons to enter Benghazi on ships from Qatar and the weapons were distributed under the supervision of Special Envoy Chris Stevens to terror groups and the Muslim Brotherhood flying the black and white jihadist flags. Stevens became the first de facto U.S. ambassador to al-Qaida.

Both the President and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton committed treason by assisting terror groups in Libya. Both of them are responsible for the destruction of Libya and for the anarchy and chaos that exists in that nation today. Both of them are also responsible for the expansion of the Islamic State in Libya and throughout the world.

Islamic State militants in Libya shot and beheaded groups of captive Ethiopian Christians

Jon Gambrell and Merrit Kennedy wrote an article entitled “Video: Islamic State kills Ethiopian Christians in Libya which was published in the Miami Herald on April 19, 2015. These reporters explained of another terrible mass murder of Ethiopian Christians in Libya.
This undated image made from a video released by Islamic State militants on April 19, 2015, appears to show the killing of a group of captured Ethiopian Christians in Libya. The 29-minute video released online shows two groups of captives. It says one group is held by an Islamic State affiliate in eastern Libya and the other by an affiliate in the south. A masked fighter delivers a long statement before the video switches between footage that shows the Christian captives in the south being shot dead and the Christian captives in the east being beheaded on a beach by Islamic jihadists.

Gambrell and Kennedy explained that the attack occurred a day after Afghanistan’s president blamed the extremists for a suicide attack in his country that killed at least 35 people. This new atrocity is similar to the one in February 15, 2015, which was already explained, regarding the beheading 21 captured Egyptian Christians on a Libyan beach. This led to Egyptian airstrikes on the group’s suspected positions in Libya.
Gambrell and Kennedy pointed out that the video begins with a history of Christian-Muslim relations, followed by scenes of Islamic jihadists burning churches and destroying Christian graves and icons. A masked Islamic terrorist holding a pistol gives a long statement, stating that Christians must convert to Islam or pay a special tax prescribed by the Quran. The video shows one group of Christian prisoners, identified as Ethiopian Christians, captured by an Islamic State affiliate in eastern Libya known as Barqa Province. It also shows another group of Ethiopian Christians held by an affiliate in the southern Libyan calling itself the Fazzan Province. The video then shows the Ethiopian Christian captives in the south being shot dead and the Ethiopian Christian prisoners in the east being beheaded on a beach.

Gambrell and Kennedy wrote that in Ethiopia, government spokesman Redwan Hussein said officials were in contact with its embassy in Cairo to verify the video’s authenticity. Hussein stated that he believed those killed were Ethiopian immigrant hoping to reach Europe.
Libya is very close to Italy and has become a place for African migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean to enter Europe for work and better lives. More than 200,000 Africans have entered Italy this year creating a major crisis for that country. Italy has requested assistance from the European Union with and Pope Francis has supported that request.

Gambrell and Kennedy explained that Redwan Hussein said, “If this is confirmed, it will be a warning to people who wish to risk and travel to Europe though the dangerous route.” Gambrell and Kennedy indicated that the Islamic State, which grew out of al-Qaida’s former Iraqi affiliate, now controls about a third of Iraq and Syria in its self-declared caliphate. The caliphate has called on Muslims across the world to join it. Its influence has grown since the Islamic State captured large areas of Iraq during the summer of 2014. Later Islamic terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt have pledged loyalty to the caliphate.

Gambrell and Kennedy wrote that Frederic Wehrey, a senior associate for the Middle East Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace stated the following: “The Islamic State in Libya is still focused on this consolidation phase of announcing its presence through these very high-profile executions. But they face some structural limits in terms of how much local support they can get because they haven’t captured real revenue streams.” The Islamic State jihadists have taken over three villages near the Iraqi city of Ramadi in Anbar province. More than 90,000 people have fled the advance of Islamic terrorists.

Conclusion

What has Barack Obama done about the serious threat that radical Islam represents to our national security? He has allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate his government. Obama sent weapons secretly and illegally from Libya to Turkey to Syria and most of those weapons ended in the hands of the Islamic Caliphate that now he is fighting. The Libyan weapons were also captured by the al-Qaida-linked al Nusra Front in Syria.

Obama stated at the United Nations that “The world does not belong to those that blaspheme Prophet Mohamed.” However, he seldom criticizes the injustices of Shariah law, the assassinations of millions of Christians in Muslim nations, or the burning of ancient Christian churches. Even worse, Obama has never spoken or used the term War on Terror and Islamic jihadist or explained to the nation the immense threat that radical Islam represents.

After investigating what went on in Libya, the Select Committee on Benghazi should issue its report. If the truth regarding Obama´s actions in Libya is shared with the American people, they would demand that the House of Representatives impeach the president for treason.
