Angela Merkel, Paul Ryan, and the Islamization of America

German chancellor Angela Merkel — easily Europe’s most important leader for years, Time’s and the Financial Times’ “Person of the Year,” etc., etc. — made an important statement at her party’s convention last week, especially notable since it came from her. Via the Washington Post:

“Multiculturalism leads to parallel societies and therefore remains a ‘life lie,’” or a sham, she said, before adding that Germany may be reaching its limits in terms of accepting more refugees. “The challenge is immense,” she said. “We want and we will reduce the number of refugees noticeably.”Although those remarks may seem uncharacteristic of Merkel, she probably would insist that she was not contradicting herself. In fact, she was only repeating a sentiment she first voiced several years ago when she said multiculturalism in Germany had “utterly failed.”

“Of course the tendency had been to say, ‘Let’s adopt the multicultural concept and live happily side by side, and be happy to be living with each other.’ But this concept has failed, and failed utterly,” she said in 2010.

Can you imagine Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton saying such a thing about the sainted “multiculturalism”?  Obviously not. They wouldn’t dare risk alienating their voters or questioning their own sclerotic ideologies — this even though Europe’s problem with Islamic immigration is far greater than ours… for now.

Get ready, however.  I have always been milder in my criticism of GOP lawmakers than some, but nothing appalls me more than the latest démarche by Paul Ryan et al in acquiescing to Obama’s immigration strategy vis-a-vis the Muslim world. This is all the more reprehensible since the GOP surrender occurred  after the Paris and San Bernardino terrorist attacks and before any even remotely effective programs have been put in place to separate out those inclined to blow up innocent citizens in the name of Allah, let alone to integrate other Muslims into our society in a manner consonant with our values and not Sharia law.

Shame on Ryan. From Breitbart:

Ryan’s bill accomplishes this migrant surge by fully funding every U.S. immigration program currently in existence, as well as funding the President’s expansion of the refugee program through Syrian migrant resettlement. The most recent available data published by the Department of Homeland Security shows that in 2013, around 118,000 migrants from Muslim-majority countries were permanently resettled within the United States on green cards, as well as approximately 40,000 refugees and asylees from Muslim countries. Additionally, according to data from the State Department, in 2013 the U.S. voluntarily admitted approximately 123,000 temporary migrants from Muslim countries as foreign students and foreign workers.

On top of those autopilot admissions, which will be funded throughout all of 2016, the House is also funding the President’s plan to add another 10,000 refugees from the Muslim country of Syria. As a result, Ryan’s House-passed omnibus will bring in nearly 300,000 Muslim migrants in the next 12 months alone, including roughly 170,000 who will be permanently resettled within the country.

Breitbart writer Julia Hahn added, “This means that next year, the U.S. will admit more than two Muslim migrants for every one Iowa Republican primary voter.”

Maybe Ryan was secretly electioneering for Donald Trump because such blind fealty to reactionary progressivism will only strengthen The Donald.

This looming problem is the motor behind this election, not just because of public safety, but because of the very nature of our society.  We cannot admit people who honor a set of seventh-century religious laws instead of our Constitution. Europe is in a double-bind situation that we are not.  As their domestic populations decline, they have to admit a substantial amount of Muslims to support their welfare states.  We do not need this.

Let’s listen to Angela and outdo her.  Stop what the German chancellor calls “multikulti” in its tracks and not be taken in by the faux-human face of fascism.  Before opening our doors, we must build a vetting process so secure our citizens will feel confident in the knowledge that the values and people of our country will be preserved. We should all cast our votes with that utmost in our minds.
