OBAMA IS SUPPRESSING FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND FREEDOM OF THE PRESS

Obama-and-Hillary-ClintonDear spy: You know that what you are doing is a crime. You are violating my First and Fourth Amendments rights under the Constitution. It does not matter whether you work for a secret Obama administration agency, the Department of Justice, or an agency funded by George Soros. Spying on people like me who denounces what is going on in the nation by the lawless President Barack Obama makes me a patriot and you are a criminal. You are enabling Obama’s continuing road to a totalitarian society. What you are doing is very similar to what the dictators of China, North Korean, Iran, Venezuela, as well as the other nation 90 miles away that Obama loves which is communist Cuba, do to their oppressed people. Suppressing freedom of speech and freedom of the press is the first step to the establishment of a totalitarian nation. I saw it in the country of my birth, Cuba. This was why at the age of 17, with my brother, many cousins, and friends, I invaded Cuba on April 17, 1961 at the Bay of Pigs.

Someday, if our beloved country is still a Constitutional Republic, what you and other spies and hackers like you are doing will be revealed to the nation. Perhaps one day you would be ashamed of the type of work that you are engaged and would become a whistleblower and a hero. You could be that hero. Go to Congress, the FBI (unless you work for them), and tell the American people the truth! May God forgive you!

There is tyranny in the United States

Talk radio conservative Mark Levin, when asked by Newsmax magazine in December 2015, if he was concerned about freedom of the press if the Democratic Party wins the White House in 2016, said the following: “The fact is that liberty is always in danger these days when you have an extreme ideological, political party now in the Democratic Party, that would in fact use the power of government, and has tried to use the power of government to silence people they disagree with.”

Thomas Jefferson wrote long ago that “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty. Barack Obama and members of his criminal administration have no fear of the people and even less of the Republicans in Congress. Thus according to Jefferson, there is tyranny in the land of the free and the home of the brave. How very sad!

Why am I being harassed with electronically surveillance, spied upon, intimidated to silence me for writing articles and five books criticizing the Obama Administration?

Obama needs to be impeached and Hillary Clinton indicted for their Middle Eastern gunrunning operation in Libya and Syria, the Benghazi cover-up, and other crimes.

I have now finished my fifth book on Obama and his corrupt administration. This is why I am being harassed and intimidated. On December 20, 2015 at 12:30 a.m., I sent the information for the back cover of my latest book, Obama, Hillary and Radical Islam through my two private and one free email addresses to the publishing house and it was rejected again and again. When the publisher sends me an email it is also rejected, in an effort to impede our communications. Below is the email for the back cover of my latest book that the spy unsuccessfully tried to interrupt:

“Frank de Varona is an educator, historian, journalist, and internationally known expert on politics, economics, foreign affairs, and national security issues. He has written 22 books, including five on President Barack Obama. At the age of 17, he participated in the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba. After the defeat, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison and served two years. After his liberation, he came to the United States and received three college degrees. He worked in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 37 years serving as social studies teacher; assistant principal; principal of three schools; region director; and region, associate, and deputy superintendent of schools. Frank de Varona was associate professor of social studies at Florida International University for seven years. He lives in Miami with his wife, Dr. HaydĂ©e Prado, a psychologist. He has a daughter, Irene, and a grandson, Danny.

This book discusses the reasons why the House of Representatives needs to impeach Obama and why the Department of Justice needs to indict Hillary Clinton for their Middle Eastern gunrunning operation in Libya and Syria, the Benghazi cover-up, and other crimes. It explains the history and the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood in the government. The history of the Islamic State, the biography of its caliph al-Baghdadi and the details of all the jihadist attacks from Paris to San Bernardino are covered. The book points out Obama’s no-win strategy to defeat ISIS and the ongoing Christian genocide. The Armenian genocide is covered as well.

The author reveals the Saudi Arabia and Iran attacks of 9/11 and its cover-up. He exposes the increasing Islamization of America and why radical mosques must be shut down. The author presents the real Obama, who has been associated his entire life with Marxists, socialists, and radicals. The author provides an account of Obama’s connections with his racist and unpatriotic pastor, Jeremiah Wright, and his friendship with the terrorist Bill Ayers, members of the Brotherhood, and with many criminals, including Tony Rezco. The author makes known the multitude of scandals that have marked Obama’s life before and after his election as president. He explains that Obama is the first Marxist and hidden radical Muslim elected to the White House in history.

The author denounces the disastrous agreement with Iran and its many critics, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He covers the many scandals of the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.

The author writes about Obama’s disdain towards the Judeo Christian values that make our nation great and his war against religion and Christianity. He discusses Malik Obama’s jihadist ties. Lastly, the author offers specific recommendations to rescue the nation from tyranny and the road ahead for Republicans to keep the House and Senate and winning the White House in 2016”.

As the United States continuous on the road to a totalitarian society under Obama critics like me must be silence. I have written five books on Barack Obama, three of them in Spanish—¿Obama o McCain? (2008), El Verdadero Obama: Sus conexiones marxistas, socialistas y radicales (2010), and ¿Obama o Romney? (2012). America in Decline (2014) and the one that will come out in late January 2016, Obama, Hilary and Radical Islam (2016) are written in English.

In a nation of over 55 million Hispanics, I am the only American of Cuban origin who has strongly criticized the president in three books written in Spanish and two in English. In fact, I do not believe that anyone in our nation has written five books on President Barack Obama and his corrupt administration. Additionally, I have written hundreds of articles in both English and Spanish for various websites, newspapers, and magazines since 2008 exposing the past of our most radical president in history and denouncing the many crimes and acts of treason of his administration.

I had a program in 2008 in two large radio stations in Miami, Florida. I covered the 2008 presidential campaign and explained to my listeners that Senator Obama had strong links to Marxists, socialists, and all type of radicals, including Islamic militants and Hamas supporters. I said that electing Obama as president would be very dangerous for the future of our nation. Sadly, I was right since Obama is the architect of the destruction of the United States.

I am frequently interviewed by local and national radio and television stations, including NTN 24 from BogotĂĄ, Colombia which is seen in Latin America and the United States. On December 18, 2014, I was being interview in Spanish by a radio station in Orlando (which interviews me once and sometimes twice a week) that has 25,000 watts. The station has a large audience in central Florida and along part of the I-4 corridor. On that day, I began to criticize the Obama administration for illegally lifting most of the Cuban embargo in violation of the Helms Burton Law when the station was put off the air for an hour and 45 minutes.

About a year ago, I was explaining in an interview by a reporter from the same station the terrorist links of the president’s brother, Malik Obama, when the lights went off. The strange situation is that those things only happen when I am being interviewed. I suspect that what is being done is to force the station to stop interviewing me.

I also speak in many cities in Florida and at national conferences. Why am I such a threat to the Obama administration? Do we as citizens have not the right to criticize and denounce those who we elect into office? If the government intimidate, harasses, and spies, us for covering the many scandals of the Obama administration, can we truly say that we live in a law-abiding Constitutional Republic?

In many of my articles I have asked for the impeachment of the president due to the many crimes that he has committed. I have strongly denounced and written that Barack Obama has committed many crimes and acts of treason. I have exposed his former corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder who lied to Congress and has spied upon and persecuted journalists. These actions have made me an enemy of the White House and a target for persecution.

Many strange things have happened to me and that leads me to believe that in the United States we are living in, at best, a surveillance nation and, more likely, in a police state. I feel as if I am living back in Cuba, my native country, and being spied upon by the secret police of that tyrannical regime. I have been the victim of the following actions most probably perpetrated by the Obama administration or hackers or spies who are his supporters. The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution protects the right to be free in our own homes from unreasonable governmental intrusion. More than likely the Obama administration or his followers have taken that right away from me.

One day I was writing in Microsoft Word in my personal computer at home an article called “Is China a Gathering Threat to our National Security,” which was later published in the website bwcentral.org on March 18, 2014. I was preparing to teach class on China, which was part of a class called Great Decisions at the University of Miami. My article on China was very lengthy.

I was writing that in March 2009 the U.S. Navy ship, the Impeccable, a surveillance ship, was sailing about 70 nautical miles from the submarine base in Hainan Island, China when it was confronted by 10 Chinese Navy ships. The Chinese dropped planks into the water and forced the U.S. ship to stop. Chinese sailors used long poles to smash the surveillance instruments that were being towed behind the ship. The Impeccable was harassed for some time until it retreated from the area. To add insult to injury, the Chinese crew of one of the ships dropped their pants and showed their bare bottoms in the direction of the Americans. This, of course was an act of war.

Much to my surprise, an article on the very same topic that I was writing appeared, unexpectedly and without explanation, in the middle of my own article. It was an article written by Bill Gertz three months earlier entitled “Chinese Naval Vessel Tries to Force U.S. Warship to Stop in International Waters.” This article had been published three months earlier on the Washington Free Beacon website on December 13, 2013.

Bill Gertz explained that on December 5, 2013 the guided missile cruiser USS Cowpens was sailing in international waters in the South China Sea, which China has illegally claimed as its territory. The U.S. warship was following the Chinese aircraft carrier the Liaoning at the time. According to American officials, a Chinese Navy vessel ordered the cruiser USS Cowpens to stop. The cruiser refused the order because it was operating in international waters and continued on its course. Suddenly, a Chinese tank landing ship sailed in front of the cruiser and stopped, forcing the U.S. Naval vessel to abruptly change its course in what became a dangerous maneuver. This was another act of war which Obama ignored.

I was stunned that someone, who was reading every word of my article, sent me another article into my computer regarding a Navy ship which had also been harassed by the Chinese navy. Obviously, the spy wanted to help me write a better article and also let me know also that I was being spied upon. I will forever be thankful to that spy. However, it was too bad that the spy did not become a whistleblower and let the nation know how journalists or author of books, even one like me who is not famous like Sharyl Attkisson and others, are being spied in violation of the First of the Fourth Amendments of the Constitution.

For months before this incident, occasionally, when I wrote an article with a subject that criticized the Obama administration and I would attempt to send it through my Yahoo e-mail, the blue beach ball would go on turning forever and my article would not be sent. However, if I would come back later to my computer and change the words of the subject, such as to “Hola,” the same article would be sent without any difficulty. I have spoken to other writers who have told me the same thing has happened to them

It is happening to people who are simply sharing articles written by others. Obviously, someone reads what we write and, if not in agreement with the Obama administration, would not allow to be sent. This is absolutely illegal and outrageous!

Much more serious things have happen to me. Oftentimes, someone rewrites the e-mails that I send from my private computer to someone else’s private computer. This is being done in an effort to impede my communications with others. Additionally, e-mails that are sent to me are often intercepted so I do not receive them.

I wrote seven e-mails to an individual who invited me to present my book, America in Decline (2014), to a Republican club in in Central Florida. My e-mail was sent from Yahoo and it was changed electronically by adding the following: “Please reply to frankdevaroma@hotmail.com.” My last name was misspelled and that e-mail does not exist. Later on, I was able to speak to the person who had invited me and I was able to schedule the presentation. This is quite dangerous as someone can write an e-mail from my private computer to a criminal and then I could be blamed for something I did not write. This is actually very scary and I feel that I am living in the nation described by George Orwell’s novel 1984.

About two and a half years ago, I received the visit of an FBI agent at my house who asked me questions about my back door neighbor. I had the feeling that the agent was interested in me and not my neighbor. I showed him the books that I had written on Barack Obama to let him know that I was not afraid. Months later someone entered my house and left the back door unlocked and nothing was stolen, leading me to suspect that illegal microphones may have been placed inside my house. It will not surprise me if my phone lines have been hacked and bugged.

I am the South Florida director of a Patriot organization called Bear Witness Central. Our organization has two websites, one in English, www.bwcentral.org, and one in Spanish, www.libertadusa.com. Both of our websites are under constant cyber-attack and are frequently disabled in spite of the many firewalls that we have installed. We have received over 100,000 cyber-attacks in a three-day period in our English website. On one occasion all of our videos were erased. Another director and I, soon after we spoke in a C-Span televised national conference, received a threating message from an Islamic radical from Europe. We both had to notify our police departments, which in turn notified the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

My computer and printer have been destroyed and on one occasion the entire list of my e-mail contacts was erased. I often need to request the services of a computer technician to repair my computer and printer.

Why I am being treated as a criminal when I am a patriot who is concerned about what is happening to our beloved country and the increasing threats by enemy nations and Islamic radicals to our national security? As a United States citizen, my First and Fourth Amendments are being violated with impunity. Why is someone trying to silence me and interfere with my communications with others? I have lived in the United States for over 50 years. I do not recognize this country anymore. Our beloved nation changed radically after Barack Obama came to power in January 2009. We are truly living in a police state!

Freedom of speech and freedom of the press in under assault in the United States and the West.

Following the Islamic terrorist attack on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the weekly satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo offices, in which 11 cartoonists, columnists, and journalists were assassinated as well as a police officer protecting the newspaper in Paris, many countries showed solidarity with France. President François Hollande of France said “This was an act of exceptional barbarity.”

Charlie Hebdo had published over the years political cartoons making fun of the prophet of Islam as well as other religions and political figures. In 2011, this well-known satirical newspaper had caricatured the Prophet Muhammad. Soon after that incident, Islamic terrorists firebombed the office building of the publication. Charlie Hebdo is a publication that satirizes all religions, including Islam. The Quran prohibits any drawing of Prophet Muhammad. In many Islamic countries to make fun or blaspheme the prophet of Islam carries the punishment of the death penalty.

Once inside the building, the two Islamic terrorist brothers headed straight to the chief of Charlie Hebdo, Stephane Charbonnier, killing him and his police bodyguard first while shouting “Allahu akbar!” as they fired. Charbonnier had stated earlier the following regarding death threats against him and the newspaper: “I rather die standing than live on my knees.” The assassins then called out the names of other employees. Witnesses stated that the Islamic terrorist assassins claimed allegiance to al-Qaida in Yemen.

The abominable attack against Charlie Hebdo was an attack against freedom of speech and the press. This assault brought a large response throughout the world, from Berlin to London, from Rome to New York City to Bangkok. Thousands of people filled squares and streets demonstrating for days while holding up pens to protect the right to freedom of speech.

On Sunday January 11, 2015 more than 40 world leaders—including President François Hollande of France, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, President Mariano Rajoy of Spain, President Petro Poroshenko of Poland, King Abdallah and Queen Rania of Jordan, President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority, and Prime Minister David Cameron of Great Britain—joined in the largest march of unity and solidarity in the history of France. In Paris and all the major cities of France 3.7 citizens participated in marches to honor the 17 victims, including four Jewish individuals who were assassinated at a grocery store, and to defend freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

The world leaders, except President Obama who shamefully stayed in the White House watching television, marched slowly clasping arms to show solidarity with the victims. “Je Suis Charlie” or “I am Charlie” became the slogan to defend the right of the satirical newspaper exercise freedom of speech.

Debate on free speech and freedom of the press

A week after the horrific assassinations on the journalists, including five famous cartoonists, at Charlie Hebdo, a cartoonist who survived as he arrived late at work on the day of the attack, drew a picture of Prophet Muhammad holding up a “Je Suis Charlie” banner and placed it on the cover of the weekly satirical newspaper. Above the picture of Prophet Muhammad were the words “Tout est pardonnĂ©â€ or “all is forgiven.” The terrorist brothers believed they had destroyed Charlie Hebdo, but they were wrong. The weekly satirical newspaper normally prints 60,000 copies, of which only about half were likely to be sold each week. On January 14, 2015, Charlie Hebdo printed 5 million copies for the first issue since the abominable terrorist attack and all were sold out immediately. Within a few hours copies of this issue were being sold on eBay for hundreds of euros and dollars.

Dan Bilefsky wrote an article titled “Charlie Hebdo’s Defiant Muhammad Cover Fuels Debate on Free Speech,” which was published in The New York Times on January 15, 2015. The reporter explained that the new cover of Charlie Hebdo reignited the debate putting free speech against religious sensitivities of followers of Islam.

While surviving staff members of the satirical newspaper explained at a news conference their choice of cover as a show of forgiveness, most Muslims consider any depiction of their prophet to be blasphemous. Bilefsky pointed out that an Egyptian Islamic scholar warned that the cartoon would exacerbate tensions between the secular West and observant Muslims. Once again, death threats circulated online against staff members of Charlie Hebdo. A radical Islamist, Anjem Choudary, was quoted by a British newspaper, The Independent, as saying that the image was “an act of war” that would be punishable by death if judged in a Shariah court.

Bilefsky stated the following: “The enormous courage of the journalists who survived the attack in the defense of freedom of speech and freedom of the press is extraordinary. This should be a lesson for the rest of the world that these cherished rights of the West will not be taken away by Islamic terrorists. Of course, not everyone agreed that this was a good idea.”

One of those who did not approve of the new cover of Charlie Hebdo was Pope Francis. He stated on January 15 that there are limits to free speech when it insults or ridicules a religion. Pope Francis said the following: “You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. You cannot provoke.”

Even though it is not mentioned in the Quran, Islam prohibits such depictions of Muhammad. I believe Pope Francis was wrong in not defending freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Making fun of any religion may be in poor taste, but it is a fundament free speech right in the West.

Pamela Geller wrote an article titled “Here are the Pope’s top seven most outrageous statements on Islam,” which was published at bwcentral.org website on January 17, 2015. Geller explained that soon after the Charlie Hebdo jihad slaughter, the Pope said that “one cannot make fun of faith.” She pointed out that Pope Francis did not mention “the relentless persecution of his people under Islamic law or the Islamic Jew-hatred that incited the mass killing at a kosher deli in Paris.”

Pamela Geller, author of Stop Islamization of America (2011), explained the Pope’s most outrageous statements on Islam:

  • Pope Francis made the outrageous claim that authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Quran are opposed to every form of violence.
  • Pope Francis said it is wrong to equate Islam with violence (tell the millions of jihads that).
  • Pope Francis said we should “not shut the door” to dialogue with the savages of the Islamic State (they have ethnically cleansed and killed hundreds of thousands of Christians in Syria and Iraq, there is no one to “dialogue” with).
  • Pope Francis said the clergy should receive a more structured training in the seminary in order to carry out a constructive dialogue with Muslims.
  • Pope Francis has held Islamic prayers at the Vatican for the first time in history.
  • Pope Francis prayed in the Istanbul mosque, facing
  • In Israel, Pope Francis chose to pray in front of large graffiti comparing Bethlehem in Palestine to the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland during WW II.

The statements made by the Pope were wrong and have not stopped the genocide against Christians in the Middle East and other Muslim countries, which has resulted in the death of a million in the last decade. The remarks made by Pope Francis sound somewhat similar the one offered by President Barack Obama at the United Nations—“The world does not belong to those that blaspheme the prophet of Islam.” Perhaps Obama did not go to Paris to support free speech since it insulted his secret religion, Islam.

Pope Francis should remember, as the title of the article below, that either you support free speech—all of it—or you do not. Obama should also defend free speech and not suppressed it as he has been doing for seven years. Unfortunately, the president and his administration have constantly attacked free speech and the freedom of the press.

http://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2014/11/Pope-Francis-joins-Islamic-cleric-to-pray-in-Mosque-http___t.co_36BFgTJfON.jpg

Marxist Pope Francis is praying with an Islamic cleric. He has said that Europe should welcome the over a million Muslim refugees, even though jihadists are also coming. The Pope for the first time in over 2,000 years allowed Muslim services to be performed in the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican, thus contributing to the Islamization of Europe.

Islamic radicals want to destroy Christianity and other religions. They will kill or enslave infidels if they do not convert to Islam. Trying to appease Islamic militants will not work.

Pope Francis should be demanding freedom of speech and freedom of the press in totalitarian countries, such as Cuba, since he was instrumental in persuading President Obama to recognize diplomatically the bloody Cuban military dictatorship and practically ending the commercial embargo. These two actions violated the Helms Burton law and the separation of powers clause of the Constitution of the United States. Additionally, the dictator RaĂșl Castro stated that nothing will change in Cuba and that communism will last another 500 years. The tyrannical regime in Cuba continues to repress the people of the Island.

A.J. Delgado wrote an article titled “Either you support free speech—all of it—or you don’t,” which was published in The Miami Herald on January 14, 2015. She rightfully pointed out the following: “But the uncomfortable sleeper issue few wish to discuss is that, for all the images of photogenic Europeans on street corners holding “Je Suis Charlie” signs, or of Angela Merkel and David Cameron huddled together, Europe long ago abandoned any pretense as being a bastion of free speech. The birthplace of the Enlightenment began to allow leftist notions of what is acceptable speech to dictate what permissible speech is. The irony is overwhelming.”

Delgado wrote that liberals in the United States already are saying speech has “limits” and must be used “responsibly,” failing to understand that placing restrictions on “free speech is, well, no free speech at all.” She explained that even though British Prime

Minister David Cameron said that Britain will “never give up” on freedom of speech, the United Kingdom’s dangerous Public Order Act prohibits “abusive” speech, which critics say is an attack on free speech.

Delgado pointed out that most of Western European nations currently have many laws restricting all forms of “offensive speech.” In Sweden, it will soon be illegal to criticize undocumented immigrants and a pastor was imprisoned for one month over a sermon against homosexuality. France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland have alarming laws regulating what can and cannot be said. Even Canada has similar legislation.

Delgado explained that in an October 2014 poll, it was revealed that a majority of Democrats support “hate speech” laws. She found ironic how many liberal Democrats were claiming this week to be champions of free speech and at the same time support the ridiculous notion of hate speech.

Delgado concluded her excellent article by writing the following: “The West must make up its mind. Either it upholds free speech across the board or it abandons our most fundamental value and capitulates to a pattern of brutal censorship and inconsistent, irrational application. Is the West, is America, is France itself, the land of Voltaire and he who is credited as proclaiming: “I disapprove of what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it” truly willing to stand by this noble ideal?”

President Barack Obama is destroying freedom of speech and of the press

The Organization of the Islamic Conference States (OIC), which is made up of 57 Muslim countries, has for years been demanding that the West criminalize anyone who criticizes Islam or its prophet. OIC regards any criticism of Islam as “hate speech” and wants the entire world to prosecute and incarcerate any individual who does it.

In addition to this international organization, the many Muslim Brotherhood front organizations in the United States are also working to muzzle free-speech. Islamic law regards any critical examination of its religion to be blasphemous and subject to the death penalty. The Muslim Brotherhood’s organizations in our nation want the Justice Department to prosecute anyone who uses what they call “hate speech,” which is nothing more than someone criticizing Islam. Unfortunately, such a “hate speech” bill with penalties was introduced by a congressman and a senator in Congress. The bill did not get anywhere but shows how the pressure of Islamic radicals is increasing in our nation.

All of these recommendations, which are being pushed with increasing force by those who want to implement Shariah law in the United States, violate the First Amendment of our Constitution and that of Western nations. President Barack Obama, a hidden radical Muslim, seems to have agreed with OIC and the Muslim Brotherhood when he said to the United Nations that “the world does not belong to those that blaspheme the prophet of Islam.”

President Obama has been attacking free speech since the beginning of his administration. Obama promised to have an open and transparent administration. However, he has presided over the least transparent administration and the abuses of the freedom of speech and freedom of the press by his administration have been appalling. In fact, Barack Obama committed several crimes as well as with Attorney General Eric Holder. Both of them should be prosecuted.

Leonard Downie, former executive director of the liberal newspaper The Washington Post, wrote a critical 30-page report entitled “The Obama Administration and the Press.” Downie, a professor of journalism at Arizona State University, pointed out that Obama did not follow through with his promise to have a transparent administration after severely criticizing the lack of transparency of the administration of George W. Bush.

Downie wrote the following: “In Washington the officials of the Obama administration each day are more fearful to talk to journalists. The war of the government against leaks and other efforts to control information are the most aggressive since the government of Richard Nixon.” He explained that government officials are being subjected to lie detectors while their e-mails and telephone calls are being spied upon. These actions have spread fear among government officials to speak to journalists even about routine matters. The government has also implemented a program called “Insider Threat” by which government officials have been told to spy on anyone who speaks to the press.

These are the actions that are typical of communist regimes such as the ones in Cuba and Venezuela. Michael Oreskes, vice president and editorial director of the Associated Press, stated that “the Obama administration has been extremely controlling and reluctant to the intervention of the press.” Frank Sesno, former chief of CNN in Washington, who currently works as director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at the University of George Washington, told professor Downie that “the combined efforts of the Obama administration are restricting the flow of information.” mainstream pro-Obama media looked the other way.

Our universities are full of socialists and Marxists professors. There are many instances where these radical ideologues professors attack and give poor grades to conservative students who do not agree with their views. It is extremely hard for conservative professors to be hired or given tenure in the social sciences and education departments because the extreme radical professors in those departments in particularly do not want them.

The Justice Department spied on journalists

It is quite disturbing that top officials of the Obama administration constantly lie to Congress and to all Americans. The outgoing Secretary of the Justice Department, Eric Holder, was the first attorney general in our nation to be declared in “Contempt of Congress” for refusing to provide requested documents regarding the gun-running Operation Fast and Furious and for constantly lying and committing perjury. The Justice Department provided guns to Mexican drug cartels. Those weapons were used to kill 300 Mexicans as well as one American law enforcement official. The Department of Justice was caught spying on many reporters and their sources of the Associated Press. Following the lead of the president, Attorney General Eric Holder testified in Congress that he was not aware that this search was being done by the Justice Department.

He must also think that the American public is very stupid! The Associated Press wrote a letter to the Justice Department on May 13, 2013 denouncing “unprecedented intrusion” of the federal government for secretly looking at telephone calls of 100 journalists and their offices over a two-month period. The letter was written by Gary Pruitt and indicated that at least 20 of the telephone lines were listened to during April and May 2012 in their offices in New York, Washington, D.C., and Hartford, Connecticut. Nothing similar to this in such a large scale has ever been done before in our nation. It is unprecedented and it is an outrageous violation of the freedom of speech and of the press!

One more time the White House tried to distance itself from this new scandal. Press Secretary Jay Carney, who lies as frequently as the president, said that “beyond the newspaper reports, we have no knowledge whatsoever of what the Justice Department did.” He added that the White House was not involved in any decision taken by the Justice Department.

This reprehensible conduct by the Justice Department is similar to the one followed by the KGB in the Soviet Union or Seguridad del Estado, Cuba’s secret police. It is another abuse of power by the Obama administration. It is also an attempt to silence the whistleblowers who speak to the press. Whistleblowers from now on will be reluctant to criticize abuses by the Obama administration if they expect that their conversations are going to be listened to or fear that they will be fired or demoted.

Stonewalled

Former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson has sued Eric Holder’s Justice Department for $35 million.

An award-winningSS Sss CBS reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, complained that she has been the victim of electronic surveillance while she was investigating the many scandals of the Obama Administration. In May 2013, while still employed at CBS, Attkisson said that her personal and work computers had been “compromised” for more than two years. CBS News investigated and found evidence of multiple unauthorized accesses by a third party in late 2012.

A highly respected investigative journalist with more than 30 years in broadcast journalism, Attkisson has received five Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow Award for her work. Attkisson wrote a book entitled Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington (2014). Attkisson wrote that the Obama Administration has broken the law with its monitoring of journalists, intimidation and harassment of opposition groups, and surveillance of private citizens.

Throughout her career Sharyl Attkisson has exposed scandals and covered controversies under both Republican and Democratic administrations. She has also seen the opponents of transparency make tremendous efforts to discourage and obstruct legitimate reporting. Attkisson stated that “she has been subjected to opposition research and efforts and spin campaigns.” These illegal tactics intensified when she pursued stories that the Obama Administration did not want to come to light.

Attkisson ‘s Stonewalled is the story of how her news reports were met with a barrage of criticism by CBS News, including online criticism and e-mails and phone calls up the network chain of command in an effort to intimidate and discourage the next story. She worked at CBS News until March 2014. In Stonewalled, Attkisson tells her personal story, setting it against the larger story of the decline of investigative journalism and unbiased truth-telling in America today.

Attkisson makes the claim that the unrelenting coverage of the incompetent healthcare.gov rollout, the Benghazi scandal and cover-up, the ATF gun walking, the Fast and Furious debacle, and the liberal ideological news managers at CBS made the climate for her investigative work untenable. Finding it increasingly difficult to get her segments aired as she wrote them, Attkisson eventually negotiated a departure from the network—but not before a continuous sophisticated hacking of her computers occurred. Sharyl Attkisson’s Stonewalled looks at the power exercised by the corporations that control the media. She denounced the ruthless tactics used by the Obama administration and its allies to manipulate and control the news narrative and the complacency of many of her colleagues in challenging the entrenched special interests.

David Martosko, U.S. Political Editor, of the United Kingdom Daily Mail said this about Attkisson’s Stonewalled:

“It is a harrowing real-life tale that should be required reading for news junkies and anyone who has asked the Obama White House a question and foolishly expected a straight answer. Sharyl Attkisson’s meticulous reconstruction of her award-winning investigative stories shows how difficult the federal government has made it to commit a random act of journalism, how the groupthink of network news bureaus can be every bit as soul-crushing as university politics, and how buying digital ink by the barrel is no longer an insurance policy against the kind of government surveillance that used to be unthinkable.”

Jeff Gerth, Pulitzer Prize winning and former correspondent for the New York Times said the following: “Attkisson offers a harrowing and gripping account of journalism as practiced these days in Washington. She skillfully unveils how she discovered the secret scheme to spy on her. The larger and more disturbing takeaway is how the mainstream is falling down on the job.”

Greta Van Susteren, attorney and Fox News anchor wrote the following: “I don’t know any journalist like Sharyl Attkisson. She has no fear and she doesn’t stop until she gets all of the facts, like an old-fashioned gumshoe detective. That’s why I stop and listen to her when I see her on TV and that is why I read her book. Stonewalled is a perfect blend of Attkisson’s captivating storytelling abilities and her relentless appetite for the truth. No fluff, no agenda
just the facts.”

The back cover of Stonewalled states the following: “Who has been hacking Sharyl Attkisson’s computers? Computers that turn themselves on in the night, make strange noises, then shut themselves down. Whoever is doing it is using highly sophisticated spyware available only to our top intelligence agencies. Is someone sending Attkisson a message?

Washington, D.C., has always been a tough town for investigative journalists. But in the age of Obama, the government has taken the tried-and-true techniques of bureaucratic stonewalling to unprecedented heights. What’s more, it has added harassment, intimidation, and outright spying to the mix.

Through more than thirty years as an award-winning investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson fought tirelessly to uncover wrongdoing by those in power, whether major corporations, government officials, or presidential administrations of both parties. But when she started looking into stories regarding the Obama administration’s mistakes and misjudgments in a series of high-profile cases she was confronted with the administration’s use of hardball tactics to discourage, block, and actively suppress her investigative work. Most disturbing of all, Attkisson reveals that as she broke news on Obama’s green energy boondoggle, Fast and Furious and Benghazi, and the disastrous rollout of Obamacare her computers and phone lines were hacked and bugged by an unrevealed but tremendously sophisticated party.

Stonewalled is the story of the Obama administration’s efforts to monitor journalists, intimidate and harass opposition groups, and spy on private citizens. But it is also a searing indictment of the timidity of the press and the dangerous decline of investigative journalism and unbiased truth telling in America today.”

Sharyl Attkisson wrote an article on her website titled “Journalist Computer Intrusion Lawsuit Filed Against U.S. Government” on January 5, 2015. Attkisson stated that she filed administrative claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act against the Department of Justice, the Postal Service and certain unnamed employees and/or agents of the federal government. Attkisson said that she had also filed a lawsuit in the District of Columbia alleging certain violations of her constitutional rights based on information implicating the federal government in illegal electronic monitoring and surveillance of her home and business computers and phones from 2011 to 2013.

Attkisson stated the following: “As outlined in the claims, three separate computer forensics exams revealed that intruders used sophisticated, remote capabilities to monitor Attkisson’s work. The intruders installed and periodically “refreshed” software used to exfiltrate data, obtain Attkisson’s passwords to various personal and work accounts, access the CBS News computer system, and monitor Attkisson’s audio using a Skype account. Forensics also revealed evidence of U.S. government-related involvement in the surveillance.”

Attkisson explained that through a Freedom of Information Act request, she found out that the FBI had opened a case on her computer intrusions in June 2013, which listed her as the victim. However, the FBI did not interview her in the investigation or even notify her that a case had been opened.

Attkisson stated the following: “The personal rights secured by our Constitution have a long and accepted history. At the very core of those rights is the right to be free in our own homes from unreasonable governmental intrusion. Although I would have much preferred to have resolved this efficiently with dialogue and disclosure, until the government is open, honest, and fully truthful with my family about what transpired, we have chosen to use the only means available to us as citizens to try and force full disclosure and honest answers to the many questions that have been raised during the investigation conducted to date.

The filing of the administrative claim is a necessary procedural step under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) prior to a citizen filing formal lawsuit complaints. Once the time for investigation is completed, the Government will be required to either take a formal step to resolve the complaint or litigation can be initiated. The administrative claim process is not required for the lawsuit alleging constitutional violations.” Sharyl Attkisson has sued the Justice Department over the hacking of her computers, officially accusing the Obama administration of illegal surveillance while she was reporting on administration scandals. In a series of legal filings that seek $35 million in damages, Attkisson alleges that three separate computer forensic exams showed that hackers used sophisticated methods to surreptitiously monitor her work between 2011 and 2013

Attkisson stated the following during an interview: “I just think it is important to send a message that people should not be victimized and throw up their hands and think there is nothing they can do and they are powerless.” She said in a lawsuit that the “intruders installed and patriotically refreshed software to steal data and obtain passwords on her home and work computers. She also charged that computer hackers monitored her audio using a Skype account. Attkisson said that these efforts were connected to the Justice Department.

Conclusion

This reprehensible conduct by the Justice Department is similar to the one followed by the KGB in the Soviet Union or Seguridad del Estado, Cuba’s secret police. It is another abuse of power by the Obama administration.

Even though most Americans are not aware, United States is, at best, a surveillance nation and more likely a police state. If one criticizes Obama, sadly you are persecuted.
