GUN CONFISCATION SET TO BEGIN IN THIS U.S. STATE ON JAN. 1, 2016

BREAKING: Gun Confiscation Set to Begin in This U.S. State on Jan. 1, 2016… Spread This to Warn OthersA new law taking effect on Jan. 1 will allow one of the largest states in the nation to seize a person’s firearms for 21 days if a judge can be convinced that there’s a potential for violence, according to The Washington Times.

The law, inspired by the 2014 shooting rampage of Elliot Roger, would allow a California judge to issue a “gun violence restraining order” if a family member or loved one convinces him that the subject’s possession of a firearm “poses an immediate and present danger of causing personal injury to himself, herself or another by having in his or her custody or control.”

“The law gives us a vehicle to cause the person to surrender their weapons, to have a time out, if you will,” Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Michael Moore said in an interview with KPCC. “It allows further examination of the person’s mental state.”

Yes, a gun-grabbing liberal named Michael Moore. What are the odds?

While many have said that the bill is little more than a thinly disguised backdoor method of gun confiscation, Moore insisted that the measure was preventative.

“It’s a short duration and it allows for due process,” he said. “It’s an opportunity for mental health professionals to provide an analysis of a person’s mental state.”

However, given the scope of the new law, it’s impossible not to see it as a backdoor gun-grabbing measure. After all, it’s impossible to determine context here. What if the family member who reports you is vehemently anti-gun? How can we be sure that due process is fair in this situation?

Sam Paredes, executive director of Gun Owners of California, agreed.

“We don’t need another law to solve this problem,” Paredes told The Associated Press, according to The Times. “We think this just misses the mark and may create a situation where law-abiding gun owners are put in jeopardy.”

Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you agree this is yet another shameless attempt to circumvent the Second Amendment and implement gun confiscation through the judiciary.
