Obama to Announce SCOTUS Pick UPDATED: It’s Merrick Garland

shutterstock_247522954.sized-770x415xtUPDATE: Politico is reporting the pick is Merrick Garland.

President Obama will announce his pick to replace Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court this morning. The announcement is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. ET, but it will more likely happen closer to 11:30 a.m. ET because Obama is always late.

“I’ve made my decision,” Obama wrote in an email. “Today, I will announce the person I believe is eminently qualified to sit on the Supreme Court.”

The finalists are federal appeals court judges Merrick Garland and Sri Srinivasan, according to reports.

The Senate has taken a strong stand against confirming Obama’s nominee.

“We believe it’s not an unreasonable position to take to say to the American people in the course of this presidential election, that their voice should be heard in this process, particularly where the balance of power on the Supreme Court is going to be determined perhaps for the next 25 or 30 years,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has been targeted and assaulted by vicious and hateful attacks from the Democrats and their flying monkeys.

The Senate is under no obligation to hold hearings or confirm Obama’s selection. The Constitution articulates the Senate’s role as one of “advise and consent.”

Be on alert for the Democrats and their co-conspirator friends, the media, to steer the narrative towards discussing the virtues and merits of Obama’s selection. Do not take the bait. The issue is that, even if Obama appoints Moses the lawgiver, the people ought to have a say — so there will be no hearings until after lame judiciary-appointing duck Obama is out of office.
