Small groups of immigrants of varying nationalities in New York support GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, and are speaking out about why they like his policies.

“These immigrants are supporting him for reasons that are intensely personal and, not surprisingly, are often aligned with their politics back home,” reports The New York Times.

Long Island lawyer Anand Ahuja, who founded the political action committee Indian-Americans for Trump 2016, praised Trump’s plan to stop illegal immigration.

“You should not reward people who have broken the law,” Ahuja stated. “You follow the law, you get punished. That’s why I like Donald Trump when he says, ‘Let’s build a wall.’”

Ahuja told The New York Times, “I believe anybody who came in this country illegally should be deported.”

An informal poll done by a New York Russian-language radio station surveyed 5,000 callers and found 80 percent of the callers support Republican Donald Trump over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Older Russian immigrants tend to vote Republican because they align the Democratic Party with the Soviet Union, according to the report.

The New York Times also notes that in Rockland County a group of Latino Republicans plan to endorse Donald Trump.
