Welcome to Obama’s “Fundamentally Transformed” America

mike-huckabee2We can soften it with non-threatening words such as “liberal,” “progressive,” and “concerned citizens,” but those euphemisms are being used to mask a radical shift towards communism and the increased government control of American lives. Just a spoonful of sugar helps the communism go down.

That’s the view of Agustin Blazquez, a filmmaker and naturalized American citizen who never imagined his native Cuba would become communist but who can now see the trend here. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, he blames media spin and propaganda for the fact that so many Americans are oblivious to the danger.

And what about the success of longtime socialist Bernie Sanders in the American presidential race? Blazquez characterizes it in one word: “absurd.” (Although maybe he didn’t factor in Hillary’s sky-high negatives.) When millennials say they want free stuff, he attributes it to propaganda and a “cultural Marxist education” — you think? — that has anesthetized them to the accompanying loss of freedom.

And he sure won’t sugarcoat President Obama’s trip to Cuba, which he says made him “want to throw up.” He sees it as a betrayal of those “Nelson Mandelas” who languish in Cuban jails. I think we can guess how he’ll feel about the closing of our base at Guantanamo. In fact, I’ll wager that through the entire Obama presidency, he’s had to buy Pepto Bismol by the case. On that he’s got plenty of company, including me.

The interview took place on the heels of an announcement by Obama’s team that Miami anti-Castro activist Ramon Saul Sanchez has been tapped for deportation. It’s a story I’ve talked about: When Sanchez came to America almost 50 years ago as a 12-year-old boy, he and his younger brother were given “parole” documents that allowed them to stay in America as Cuban refugees. But that was then; this is now. It’s not over — his attorneys have a three-pronged strategy for an appeal — but if Obama insists on siding with the Castro regime on this matter, Sanchez is resigned to his fate. “If all else fails,” he says, “I will ask the United States to allow me to sail from here aboard a simple, unarmed boat to return to the waters of my country and there face death by firing squad, or jail, or whatever the consequences may be.”

Welcome to Obama’s “fundamentally transformed” America. If this doesn’t make all of us throw up, I don’t know what will.
