Under the guidance, schools are told that they must treat transgender students according to their chosen gender identity as soon as a parent or guardian notifies the district that that identity “differs from previous representations or records.” There is no obligation for a student to present a specific medical diagnosis or identification documents that reflect his or her gender identity and equal access must be given to transgender students even in instances when it makes others uncomfortable.
The whole idea of “transgender” rights is a political fiction that will be at last clarified in the courts. The definition of the word will have to be established. Since this word is not based on any specific disorder, the judicial system will have to be told whether it refers to the extremely rare (0.04% of the pop.), Transsexuals or as it is now called Gender Dysphoria or all LGBT persons. Then whether actual discrimination exists will have to be proven.
Lesbians, Gays, and Bisexuals do not want to change their anatomical sex, and are using their appropriate facilities. True Transsexuals require hormonal and surgical treatment and their anatomy changed to match their feelings, certificates changed and facilities used will depend on their new sexual organs.
So where is the conflict? If you read the administration’s directive and threats, what they are really looking for is the denial of biology and the establishment of gender as a subjective choice. Is our society ready to become one that will deny even the simple and clear rules of nature? I hope not!
