DHS Whistleblower: CAIR ‘Should Have Already Been Shut Down’

The Council on American-Islamic Relations pushed all the right buttons during its Sunday afternoon press conference in response to the massacre of 50 Orlando nightclub patrons by an ISIS sympathizer.

“We offer condolences to the families and pray for the recovery of the survivors,” said CAIR communications director Ibrahim Hooper. “This is a hate crime, plain and simple. We condemn it in the strongest possible terms. It violates our principles as Americans and Muslims.”

CAIR also postponed a news conference scheduled for Tuesday at which the group had planned to release a new report on “Islamophobia.”

Corey Saylor, director of CAIR’s Department to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia, explained in a press release: “A forthright discussion about all forms of bias is vital to our nation. However, it is our belief that in the wake of this weekend’s tragedy in Orlando, our nation should focus on addressing anti-LGBT hate.”

But former Department of Homeland Security officer Philip Haney was unimpressed by CAIR’s words. Appearing Monday on “Secure Freedom Radio with Frank Gaffney,” Haney pointed out CAIR is a known supporter of Hamas, which is a designated terrorist group.

“The fact that an organization with known ties to terrorism has intruded itself into the political process, into the legal process of our country, is to me obscene because by rights this organization, with several other of its sister organizations, should have already been shut down,” declared Haney, author of the explosive new book “See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad.”

“There is more than probable cause-level of adequate law enforcement information to shut these organizations down, and I for one, as a former law enforcement officer, am really fed up with their constant intrusion into the law enforcement process and into our social and political narrative.”

In 2007, CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terror-financing case in American history. Although the U.S. does not consider CAIR a terrorist organization, the United Arab Emirates declared it as such in 2014.

CAIR was founded by members of the Palestine Committee, an organization that materially supported Hamas. What’s more, FBI documents have shown CAIR itself was established to ultimately support Hamas.

According to FBI evidence, CAIR was founded shortly after a 1993 Philadelphia conference in which Palestine Committee leaders discussed the “need to create a new front organization” for Hamas in the United States.

Haney thinks the feds should prosecute CAIR directly this time.

“I think it’s about time to really seriously consider reopening the Holy Land Foundation trial, Phase Two, and directly go after these organizations, because it was irrefutably proven that they are tied to Hamas,” he said. “There is no question whatsoever about it.”
