Donald vs Hillary = 6.6 million vs. $70,000

supportvetsThis past January, Donald Trump organized a fundraiser for war veterans. Trump decided to put together the event after avoiding one of the Republican presidential debates. At the end of the fundraiser, Donald Trump said that he had raised $6 million. Consequently, anti-Trump activists questioned the seriousness of the event and the intentions of Trump. Some organizations even said that they did not receive the promised funds.

In the following weeks, the liberal press once again turned against Trump. As expected, the media strongly criticized the event. At the same time however, they ignored the records of donations to veterans made by Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, the two presidential candidates of the Democratic Party.

Obviously, the Hillary campaign joined in on the criticism of Trump; Mrs. Clinton insulted him and said that he certainly will be “bragging” as he always does.

Due to the criticism, Donald Trump held a press conference at the Trump Tower in Manhattan. Trump informed that he had given $5.6 million to 41 veterans groups. He also responded to the media and said that the press should be “ashamed” of itself and that he had never received so much bad publicity for doing such a good job.

Among the recipients of the donations were organizations such as the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Americans Equal Living, America complete VetDogs, Navy SEAL Foundation and Foundation for American Veterans. It is worthy to note that Trump also donated 1 million dollars of his own money to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, a charitable organization that supports family members of deceased marines.

Moreover, Breitbart News reported that according to public records, Bill and Hillary Clinton had donated $70,000 to war veterans. Breitbart’s announcement was made in response to a question that Trump had previously made to journalists asking them to “check how much Hillary has given to the veterans”. Breitbart also noted that the Clinton couple accumulated a significant net gain of $139 million from 2007-2014.

Trump’s position and his support to our veterans and the military was recently reflected in the commemoration of Memorial Day in Washington D.C. Trump was the only presidential candidate invited to speak at Rolling Thunder, the largest motorcycle parade in the country that pays tribute to our veterans.

The numbers are clear about one thing; Donald Trump has donated $6.6 million to veterans (5.6 million through a charity event and one million from his own pocket) while Hillary Clinton has donated $70,000 despite her large personal monetary funds.

Seeing these numbers makes me wonder how much the self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders has donated to our veterans. I also wonder if he has ever organized a charity event in support of our men and women in uniform. In this regard, the press has not provided any information.
