Obama just insulted veterans, but one FIRED BACK and his response is going viral…

index-2What could he possibly have been thinking?

When arguing politics, it’s a good idea to know your audience. Given that the majority of veterans of all ages tend to lean Republican, you’d think Barack Obama would be hesitant to attack conservatives during a speech in front of them. Apparently, he didn’t get the memo.

Western Journalism reports that; Comments made by President Barack Obama Wednesday during a speech in Elkhart, Indiana did not sit well with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars group.

During his speech, Obama referred to what he called the “primary story” told by Republicans, dealing with “moochers at the bottom of the income ladder.” He said, “We have been hearing this story for decades. Tales about welfare queens, talking about takers … It’s the story that is broadcast every day on some cable news stations, on right-wing radio, it’s pumped into cars, and bars, and VFW halls all across America, and right here in Elkhart.”

He went on to infer that people who hear this story-line continually will begin to believe it and think big government is the problem.

Given the 300,000+ veterans who have died waiting for care from the Veteran’s Administration, I think they’re in quite the position to think big government is a problem.

Members of the veterans group did not appreciate Obama’s “lecturing.”

VFW National Commander, John A. Biedrzycki issued a statement saying, “I don’t know how many VFW Posts the president has ever visited, but our near 1.7 million members are a direct reflection of America. We don’t have confused politics, we don’t need left or rightwing media filters telling us how to think or vote, and we don’t need any President of the United States lecturing us about how we are individually [affected] by the economy.”

He added that men and women in uniform are responsible for creating our nation and it exists today because of them.

It takes our veterans over half-a-year on average before their benefits claims are processed. The number of veterans waiting over a year to receive benefits has increased from 11,000 when Obama took office to nearly 250,000 by 2013.

Veterans aren’t mad at the “moochers” – they simply want to be treated as well.
