This CNN Poll Has Shocked The Political Universe

The latest poll from CNN and the Opinion Research Center shows Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton 45 percent to 43 percent.

The poll surveyed 1,001 adults over the first weekend in September and has a margin of error or 3.5 percentage points.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein earned 7 and 2 percent, respectively.

The new data caps off a huge month for Trump, in which the real estate mogul cut Clinton’s lead — which had ballooned to seven points following the Democratic convention in July — by more than half in the Real Clear Politics average. (RELATED: Trump Leads Clinton In Latest Rasmussen Poll)

CNN notes that though Trump now leads in the popular vote, 59 percent of those surveyed believe that Clinton “will be the one to get to 270 electoral votes vs. 34 percent who think Trump has the better shot at winning.”
