Cuban-Americans take to the streets of Miami to celebrate the death of the Communist Dictator

The Cuban people were betrayed by Fidel Castro when fifty seven years ago, he came to power in a bloody revolution that installed a Communist totalitarian dictatorship.  The people of Cuba have suffered an inhuman repression, hundred of thousands unjustly imprisoned, millions of broken and destroyed families, oppression of free speech  and the murder of tens of thousands of people during his reign in power.  The Cuban people deserve the freedoms and democracy that we Americans have.  There needs to be a change in Cuba and it needs to come soon!

Although it is not correct to celebrate the death of another human being, the death of Fidel Castro is an enormous and infinitely justifiable exception as Alberto de la Cruz in Babalu Blog wrote.  “His passing is not simply the death of an old man; it is the death of an intrinsically evil, despotic, and demonic plague that not only caused so much misery, pain, and bloodshed in Cuba, but in other parts of the world as well. This makes the death of Fidel, a malevolent and vile beast, a death worth celebrating.”

U.S. representative Mario Diaz-Balart released the following statement after the death of  Cuban dictator Fidel Castro:  “Today, a tyrant is dead.  Although his totalitarian dictatorship deeply scarred a once prosperous nation, his death ushers in a renewed hope that the Cuban people finally will be free.  Now we must work even harder toward achieving liberty, basic rights, and free, multi-party elections for the Cuban people.”

“The dictator has the blood of innocents on his hands, and his dictatorship is guilty of torture, murder and numerous other atrocities. As an evil dictator finally faces his Creator, the malevolent Castro dictatorship continues.  Shamefully, President Obama has spent the past eight years attempting to cede important leverage to the ailing Castro regime.  Despite President Obama’s collaboration and betrayal of America’s longstanding mission to promote freedom, the American people continue their strong solidarity with the Cuban people in their struggle for free elections, human rights, and liberty.”

The Cuban people have suffered enough, Bear Witness Central is asking President-elect Donald Trump, the incoming Trump Administration and the U.S. Congress that it is unequivocally clear that the Cuban-American population and the Cuban people want a free Cuba and demand political reforms; and that it does not matter who is in power in Cuba,  codified sanctions shall only be lifted upon the release of all political prisoners; the recognition and respect of fundamental human, civil and political rights as prescribed by international covenants; and the legalization of opposition parties, free elections and an independent media.

Enough is enough!  Cuba must be FREE!

God Bless America!
