SERIOUSLY? This could be the most INANE statement I’ve ever heard from the White House

slide1-4-1000x640I always enjoy reading fairy tales — you know, the ones all based on make believe or an unrealistic reality. It appears we shall be getting many more fairy tales from the Obama administration as it prepares to leave the magical land of Oz.

Take this little tale, for example.

As reported by the BBC, “At least 50,000 militants from so-called Islamic State have been killed since the US-led coalition started fighting in Iraq and Syria two years ago, a US military official has said. The senior official described the figure as a “conservative estimate.”

The figure showed air power and a small number of US figures supporting local forces were having an impact, the official said. The US has, however, repeatedly warned that IS can replace fighters rapidly.

The official on Thursday said that coalition air strikes could be intensified in places like Mosul, which Iraqi troops are now battling to recapture, but that had to be offset against the risk of civilian casualties. The campaign was beginning to damage IS, the official said. “I am not into morbid counts but that kind of volume matters, that kind of impact on the enemy.”

The US has often been reluctant to provide figures on enemy casualties. But in August, Lt Gen Sean MacFarland was quoted by the AP news agency as saying that about 45,000 enemy combatants had been killed. In February, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said IS had about 25,000 fighters operating in Syria and Iraq, citing a US intelligence estimate. It is now entrenched in Mosul and Raqqa and the Sunni Arab tribal heartland of the Euphrates river valley, which stretches from eastern Syria to western Iraq.”

This kabuki dance reminds me of that classic Abbott and Costello skit of “Who’s on First.”

Let’s review the score once again. Back in February, Josh “Not So” Earnest said ISIS had about 25,000 fighters — in total. But in August, LTG Sean MacFarland said about 45,000 enemy combatants — in other words ISIS islamic jihadists — were killed. And now we have a US military official telling us that 50,000 militants — in other words ISIS islamic jihadists — have been killed over the past two years. Then we have the same anonymous official telling us they’re not into morbid counts — so, who the hell is dead?

If you’re not into morbid body counts, what measurement is used to provide BDA, battle damage assessment? Who is dead? What killed them? Where were they killed?

Now, when we watch the Abbott and Costello skit, we still find ourselves laughing at such simple comedy. But in the case of the Obama administration over the past two years, dealing with ISIS, if it weren’t so serious, we would laugh until we cried.

Instead we just cry.

Who’s the Jayvee team now? And remember that two years ago, Obama told us ISIS is not “Islamic.” I’m still waiting to hear what they are — maybe they’re on second. No wait, I believe they’ve stolen home.

Now, remember that just earlier this week, Obama sat with CNN and told us that the emergence of ISIS was not on his intelligence radar screen…so, who snuck up on him, what was he doing, and how can they say they’ve killed 50,000 of something that just snuck up on them?

None of this makes any sense, but then again, this is the Land of Oz in which Barack Obama has sought to make us believe in wizards, flying houses and asked us to follow the yellow brick road. The only part of the Obama administration that resembles the famed story of Oz, is his version of the flying monkeys he unleashed on the American people — ya know, the IRS, EPA, DoJ, and other alphabet soup government agencies.

I suppose one could make the case for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to be the Wicked Witch of the West. And certainly, Harry Reid has the commonality of the Scarecrow in not having a brain.

Actually, I can’t look at the following clip without thinking about Hillary Clinton the day after the election.

But I digress.

You see, ISIS to the Obama acolytes were never real. They were a figment of everyone’s imagination, a man-caused disaster. And in keeping with fine story telling — as only the Deputy National Security advisor Ben Rhodes could write — the smoke and mirrors of these past eight years are coming to an end.

However, the literary geniuses and spin masters must continue to tell tall tales. One must ask, does this report about 50,000 ISIS jihadists killed fall into the definition of “fake news?” I mean really, 50,000 fighters?

That’s the equivalent of nearly five U.S. Army light infantry divisions. You mean to tell me the enemy, who wasn’t on Obama’s intelligence radar screen — fake news — had amassed a combat strength rivaling FIVE U.S. Army infantry divisions? Talk about someone being asleep at the wheel, folks.

And, if the much touted “U.S.-led coalition” —  another fake news story — has been so successful, then why has everything ground to a slow go, or in some cases a halt, in Mosul? Yes, you remember, that great final assault we’d been telling the enemy that snuck up on Obama for a year all about, that began in October…and we hear nothing about now. So, as with everything in the Obama administration, when things aren’t going well, you make stuff up, i.e. ”we have killed 50,000 militants.”

Ok, let’s get real here, the only folks leading a coalition are the Russians and Iranians…with a little Turkey. As with the folly of Libya, Obama has once again outsourced our military capacity to our adversaries for the most part. That enemy which snuck up on Obama — you know, he was too busy playing golf — could have been thwarted if Obama had led from the front, and sent weapons and arms to the Kurds and not to the Iranian-backed Baghdad government. All we’re doing now is just enabling Iran’s hegemony to stretch deeper into Iraq, all the way into the heart of Sunni country. I guess that also snuck up on ol’ Barry boy as well?

The bottom line is this: Barack Obama is a man searching for something. He’s watching his eight years in office being dismantled and turned into little more than the Sunday newspaper — preferably the New York Times — that you use to line the bird cage. And as a drowning man, he’s seeking any lifeline he can, which means more Obama “fake news” stories to make us believe we’re still in the land of make believe, unicorns and rainbows.

Perhaps Obama should read more non-fiction, like the December House Homeland Security terror snapshot we shared with y’all this week. Needless to say, Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, did not issue that report — far above his literary talents, and again, it’s reality, not make believe.

And in these final days, the fourth estate will do everything it can to prop up Obama and try to get us to listen to his bedtime story. They’ve gone so far as to try and demonize the fifth estate, which is far more reflective of a real world than the so-called, “professional” journalists who’ve lost all credibility with the American people — well, at least the ones with functional brains.

In conclusion, this report from an anonymous U.S. military official is nothing more than fake news from the Obama administration. Barack Obama has admitted that ISIS was never on his radar screen. And so how can it be that we get this “definitive” assessment of 50,000 militant killed, when the president just admitted he he never knew they were coming, or existed — which is another example of fake news. Then again, let’s find our honesty here and accept the fact that with Barack Obama, it’s not fake news…the fella is just a bold face pathological liar.

50,000 militants killed in the last two years my butt.
