The White House on Monday released a list of terror attacks around the world that it says the U.S. media “ignored.”
While the list of 78 incidents does include major attacks that were covered, such as in Nice and Paris, France; San Bernardino, California; and Orlando, Florida; it also highlights killings in Dhaka, Bangladesh; Parramatta, Australia; and Zvornik, Bosnia that got little attention.
“Since ISIS declared its caliphate, there has been a major attack targeting the West executed or inspired by the group more than once every two weeks,” the White House said.
The list of planned or executed attacks covers the period between September 2014 and December 2016.
The White House released the list hours after the president said the media was not giving adequate attention to ISIS-inspired attacks.
“It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported,” Trump said at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. “And in many cases, the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it.”
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer then said the list of terror incidents the president believes the media either ignored or downplayed would be forthcoming.
“There’s a lot of instances that have occurred where I don’t think they’ve gotten the coverage they deserved,” he told reporters on Air Force One.
