Well, there’s been a lot of turnover at the White House communications office. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was the first to helm the office, and then Michael Dubke took over for less than 100 days, which reverted back to Spicer for a bit, and finally the tumultuous ten-day tenure of Anthony Scaramucci. Scaramucci’s tenure ended on a controversial note, after he spoke with the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza in a profanity-laced interview that took swipes at then-White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.
It all came about when Scaramucci vowed to find who leaked his financial disclosure form, which was gong to be made public anyway. Once former Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly was sworn in as the new White House chief of staff last month, he gave Scaramucci his exit papers. Now, President Trump’s longtime communications aide, Hope Hicks, is rumored to takeover the post. The Daily Caller reported on the story very early this morning:
Hope Hicks will be named the new White House communications director, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.
President Trump has offered the job to Hicks and she has accepted the position, according to a White House insider. Hicks has been close by Trump’s side since the early days of the campaign and is one of his most trusted staffers. She has been serving on the press team in more of a behind-the-scenes role as the director of strategic communications.
