President Donald Trump hammered Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch on Twitter Monday morning.
Lynch refused to stand for the American national anthem when the Raiders played the New England Patriots in Mexico City. However, he had no problem standing for the Mexican national anthem.

Lynchâs refusal to respect America didnât go unnoticed by Trump. The President tweeted, âMarshawn Lynch of the NFLâs Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.â

I wrote last night that Lynchâs decision was incredibly stupid and disrespectful. How can anybody with an ounce of common sense or decency honestly believe Mexico is a better place than America? Mexicoâs human rights record is atrocious. Journalists are murdered without a second thought, corruption runs rampant throughout the country and innocent people are routinely slaughtered in massive drug wars. All of that makes Lynchâs decision pretty mind-boggling.
This is also a great battle for Trump to fight. Most people look at what Lynch did and instantly know he was in the wrong. Itâs one thing to protest in America, but all those disagreements need to be left at the door when traveling abroad.
There is no excuse for what Lynch did, and hopefully the NFL or the Raiders management sends a message.
