Victory Declared Over ISIS, Media Barely Notices.

Apparently that’s not good news if it happens under Donald Trump.

On Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over ISIS, bringing the three-year battle to an end as the country regained control of its cities.

“Our forces fully control the Iraqi-Syrian border, and thus we can announce the end of the war against Daesh,” the prime minister said. “Our battle was with the enemy that wanted to kill our civilization, but we have won with our unity and determination.”

The America-led coalition against the caliphate to push them out was a tremendous success and should be celebrated. It’s big news, but why so little coverage from the mainstream media?

At the National Review, Iraq War vet David French writes:

[T]he caliphate is a smoking ruin. It courted conflict with the great powers. It craved Armageddon, and it got its wish. No one knows ISIS’s exact casualty figures, but its fighters have died by the tens of thousands. I’ve spoken to men who were directly involved in the air campaign, and they have told me that the public doesn’t yet understand the sheer scale and ultimate effectiveness of the American attacks…

This is one of the best stories of the young Trump administration. While many of the battles were fought under Obama, Trump pursued the enemy relentlessly. He delegated decision-making to commanders in the field, they fought within the laws of war, and they prevailed. Trump promised to defeat ISIS, and he has delivered a tremendous victory.

Unfortunately, the media is more interested in its anti-Trump agenda to even notice a war won. There are too many stories swirling about the #MeToo movement, or who said what on Twitter. Reporters care more about the war with the White House than it does about the war against our sworn enemies, who are still active and seeking our destruction even though their numbers have plummeted. The MSM is too prideful to spend any time on something this extraordinary that has happened under Trump’s watch. Instead, they’re too busy trying to figure out how many Diet Cokes is too many for the president to consume each day. And worst of all, instead of thanking our military, they’re patting each other on the back for a job well done in the Washington bubble.

So, on behalf of the rest of us who do care, a big thank you to the brave men and women who helped win this war and continue to protect our freedom.
