Federal law enforcement officials have had their hands full over the past couple of weeks dealing with multiple DACA recipients involved in human smuggling and a diversity lottery recipient who funneled money for years to a designated terrorist.

On Wednesday, Thomas Homan, deputy director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, noted that the U.S. government is moving to strip a Sudanese-born beneficiary of the diversity visa lottery of his legal status after he funded a terrorist. The Washington Examiner reports:

Mubarak Ahmed Hamed was convicted in 2010 of sending $1 million from a nonprofit to a terrorist in Jordan, who redirected the funds into Iraq in the years before the U.S. invasion to depose its leader Saddam Hussein. Hamed began a four-year, 10-month prison term in 2012. Justice Department officials asked a federal judge on Wednesday to revoke his legal status in a denaturalization complaint.

While authorities move to strip the Sudanese national of his legal status, U.S. Border Patrol agents have had their hands full along the southern border, catching four DACA recipients in the span of one week, each in separate incidents, participating in smuggling illegal aliens into the U.S.

The first incident, on January 24, happened when Border Patrol agents working near San Diego were tipped off that suspected human smuggling was in progress near Torrey Pines State Beach. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reports:

Agents observed the vehicle stopped on the side of Interstate 5 near Dairy Mart Rd. at around 12:10 p.m., and conducted an immigration check.

Agents found three men inside the vehicle, the driver, a 20-year-old DACA recipient, his 22-year-old cousin who is a Mexican national illegally residing in the United States, and a 21-year-old Mexican national illegally in the country. Both the driver and his cousin admitted their involvement with human smuggling in the area. The driver, a beneficiary of DACA which has since expired, is currently being held in Federal custody.

The second incident, on January 25, happened when Border Patrol agents working east of San Diego arrested multiple illegal aliens and then spotted suspicious vehicles in the vicinity. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports:

Agents questioned the driver, a 22-year-old male Mexican national, who admitted that he was performing scouting duties for a smuggling crew. He also admitted that he was coordinating with another driver of a vehicle to relay information related to Border Patrol operations in the area and the status of the Border Patrol checkpoint to aid in illegal smuggling.

Border Patrol agents learned that the man resides in Riverside County as a DACA recipient. Agents also discovered that the man had successfully participated in alien smuggling on multiple occasions. The man, in violation of the terms of his DACA status, is currently being held in Department of Homeland Security custody for removal proceedings.

The third incident, on January 29, happened when Border Patrol agents working near Yuma, Arizona, “came across the footprints of several illegal aliens attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico and communicated the information to Targeted Enforcement Unit agents, who witnessed four subjects entering into a white truck nearby.” U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports:

Agents from both units intercepted the vehicle and performed a vehicle stop. The driver was identified as a 26-year-old male Mexican national DACA recipient from Salinas, California. The other four occupants were all determined to be Mexican nationals illegally present in the United States. The driver was arrested for human smuggling charges, and the four passengers were arrested for immigration violations. The vehicle was seized for forfeiture.

The fourth incident, on January 31, happened when Border Patrol agents working near Laredo, Texas arrested a Mexican national who was attempting to smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S. in a vehicle. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports:

On January 31, 2018, Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican national identified as a recipient for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program, attempting to smuggle two illegal aliens into the United States. Border Patrol agents responded to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety on a traffic stop near Highway 83 in Laredo, Texas. The driver, a 23-year-old male, was attempting to smuggle the two illegal aliens in a Ford Focus. The two illegal aliens were identified as being Mexican nationals. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized by Border Patrol.
