I regret to inform readers the establishment media is at it again.
This time, prominent media figures are going out of their way to defend the humanity of MS-13 thugs. Excuse me, âmembers.â âThugâ is a racist word, according to the establishment media.
President Trump referred to MS-13 members as âanimalsâ during a Wednesday roundtable. Journalists and Democratic lawmakers promptly melted down because they believed he was calling all illegal immigrants animals.
When it was finally made abundantly clear Trump was only referencing MS-13 members, the media decided it should still be outraged and quickly shifted to defending the humanity of these unrepentant murderers.
CNBCâs John Harwood claimed, âhowever repugnant their actions, MS-13 gang members are human beings.â
Voxâs Dylan Matthews argued, âWhat if MS-13 members are still human and itâs bad to call them animals.â
BBC reporter Anthony Zurcher insisted, âReferring to any humans as âanimalsâ edges toward the language of genocide.â
And, of course, CNN personality Ana Navarro weighed in against Trump. Navarro said the president was dehumanizing these poor MS-13 members, which put him in the same category as Nazis and slave owners. (RELATED: All Of The Bad People The Media Defended This Week)
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi insisted MS-13 gangbangers are not animals and they display the âspark of divinity.â (RELATED: Nancy Pelosi Defends Violent MS-13 Gang Members In Response To Trump)
Singer John Legend may have gone the furthest in his MS-13 defense. Legend blamed the El Savadoran gang on America and said that it was immoral to dehumanize these murderous thugs. âDehumanizing large groups of people is the demagogueâs precursor to visiting violence and pain upon them. It makes it easier to destroy their families and much worse,â he tweeted. (RELATED: John Legend Blames America For MS-13)
The new rule seems to say that it is totally unconscionable to label any human an animal, regardless of how horrific their crimes are. This is obviously a standard that only applies to groups liberals donât hate. Ana Navarro herself called Trump an animal and urged him to drop out of the human race back in 2016.
Itâs strange that she shows more concern for a gang known for occult rituals and bodily dismemberment than she does for the president of the United States.
At the same time that media figures are wringing their hearts out about the âdehumanizationâ of vicious criminals, theyâre showing no such love for law-abiding citizens on the opposing side. New York media is in a frenzy over a local lawyer, Aaron Schlossberg, ranting on video about how Spanish speakers at a restaurant were not conversing in English.
Apparently this act is far worse than dismembering innocent teens in grisly rituals. Journalists have stalked Schlossberg and followed him around with cameras everywhere he goes. Heâs received numerous threats and a petition demanding he be disbarred has thousands of signatures. He was kicked out of his office space over the videotaped tirade.
In the New York media world, this man is the worst person on planet Earth.
Schlossberg may be a jerk, but itâs idiotic for journalists to show this much hatred for a guy who merely went on a nativist rant when theyâre busy defending actual monsters.
No love is shown for conservative gun owners and the NRA either. The NRA, which represents millions of law-abiding citizens, is regularly called a terrorist organization by members of the media.
Earlier this week, former Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the NRA was âjust shyâ of constituting a terrorist organization. The similarity between the gun rights group and ISIS was never explained, but the progressive base doesnât need solid reasoning to see the two entities as the same.
There is plenty of dehumanization and demonizing to go around in American politics. To draw the line at MS-13 is ridiculous. If MS-13 was composed of white rednecks instead of illegal Central Americans, liberals would be calling for the Marines to take them out and describing them in worse terms than âanimal.â
But since MS-13 is composed of Hispanic immigrants, that makes them worthy of defense â even though the primary victims of this brutal gang are other Latinos. That doesnât matter. Itâs not like the gang affects the segregated, lily white neighborhoods that liberal elites call home.
So why should they be worried by the crimes of these misguided undocumented entrepreneurs? Only racists care about that!
It wonât take too long for the Left to find another enemy worthy of hate and dehumanization. Some Republican candidate could say something mean about immigrants or an elderly woman may go off on Muslims in her local grocery store. Theyâll find somebody they think is worse than MS-13.
All it takes is to say something offensive and not be a member of a protected class.
