President Donald Trump’s campaign filed an arbitration charge on Tuesday against Omarosa Manigault Newman after she made numerous derogatory remarks about the president in her upcoming book. The campaign claimed that she broke a nondisclosure agreement that she apparently signed in 2016.
The arbitration, filed in New York, comes after Newman made numerous claims in her book that have already been shot down by other parties involved. The Washington Examiner reports:
According to a sample of the agreement provided to Secrets, she was required to keep proprietary information about the president, his companies or his family confidential and to never “disparage” the Trump family “during the term of your service and at all times thereafter.”
The Daily Wire reported on Monday that multiple anti-Trump figures have come out and pushed back on Newman, calling her a “liar,” “evil” and “not credible.”
Among the claims that have received pushback is the claim that Trump used the “n-word.”
I’m in @Omarosa’s book on page 149. She claims to have heard from someone who heard from me that I heard Trump use the N-word.
Not only is this flat-out false (I’ve never heard such a thing), but Omarosa didn’t even make an effort to call or email me to verify. Very shoddy work.

Another claim, that Trump took a note from his former personal lawyer and ate it in front of him, has also received pushback:
LTo the many dozens of #journalists who called me, questioning @OMAROSA claim in her new book that @POTUS @realDonaldTrump took a note from me, put it in his mouth and ate it…I saw NO such thing and am shocked anyone would take this seriously.

“Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. has filed an arbitration against Omarosa Manigault-Newman, with the American Arbitration Association in New York City, for breach of her 2016 confidentiality agreement with the Trump Campaign,” an official said in a statement to the Examiner. “President Trump is well known for giving people opportunities to advance in their careers and lives over the decades, but wrong is wrong, and a direct violation of an agreement must be addressed and the violator must be held accountable.”
The official added that they are seeking “millions of dollars in retaliation,” according to the Examiner’s description of the official’s statement, adding that they may go after any profits she receives from her book.
