The censure resolution concerns Schiff’s misattribution of quotes to Trump in remarks about the president’s July call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which Schiff has said were intended as “parody,” and for claiming the committee had no prior contact with a whistleblower who filed a complaint concerning the call.

The call with the Ukranian president is at the center of the House impeachment inquiry against Trump.

Trump’s tweet appeared to be prompted by a reference to the resolution on “Fox & Friends,” one of the president’s favorite shows, which he often tweets the topics being discussed.

Trump has frequently blasted Schiff and called for him to be punished for the misquotes, which he has falsely claimed were illegal and “treason.”
