A man has been stabbed to death and three others have been injured amid what police described as a “large-scale disturbance” in Sheffield.

Police were called to Horninglow Road in the Firth Park area of the city just after midnight on Saturday.

A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his upper body, but he was later pronounced dead.

Three other men suffered injuries that are not described as life threatening as part of the same incident, officers said, and are receiving treatment.

Their ages are not known.

South Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “Detectives are carrying out enquiries and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Following a large scale disturbance on Horninglow Road there will be an increased police presence in the area for the rest of the weekend.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 18 of 8 August 2020
