Whether you’re experiencing the thrill of Niagara Parks’ beloved attractions for the first time, or are intimately familiar with its natural wonders, you won’t be disappointed with the new additions.

The newest must-see attraction in Niagara Falls is the Niagara Parks Power Station and Tunnel. Tour the beautifully restored generator floor of the century-old power station and then travel by glass-enclosed elevator 180 feet below ground to explore the Tunnel, which leads to an all-new viewing platform with never-before-seen views of the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The Niagara Parks Power Station joins an exciting lineup of Niagara Parks attractions and experiences, including the iconic Table Rock Centre, the flagship tourism facility at the brink of the Falls.

For as long as Niagara Falls has been a global tourism destination, Table Rock has been a permanent fixture of each visitor’s experience. The newly upgraded center and observation complex is also home to Niagara Parks’ signature restaurant, Table Rock House Restaurant, along with other culinary delights at the Table Rock Market, as well as a completely renovated retail store, Table Rock Shop. Guests who visit Table Rock Centre will also be able to enjoy a refreshed look at the signature experience, Journey Behind the Falls, which offers unparalleled views from the base of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

Journey Behind the Falls

After taking in the new interpretive exhibits that detail the geological formation of the Falls, Indigenous connections and the origins of tourism, visitors will descend 125 feet into the bedrock, emerging in the 130-year-old tunnels that were carved into the bedrock. As guests head to the lower observation deck, they will feel the thunderous vibration of the Horseshoe Falls long before they are left breathless by the sheer magnificence of this 13-story-tall wonder. After taking in the sights on the observation deck, visitors will be able to get an up-close view of the sheer power of the water from the open portals located directly behind the Horseshoe Falls.

This must-see attraction is the newest addition at Niagara Parks! The first major power plant of its kind on the Canadian side, the Niagara Parks Power Station boasts immersive exhibits and restored artifacts that offer a first-hand look at how this hydropower pioneer harnessed the force of water to generate electricity for 100 years.

Complete the story by taking the glass-enclosed elevator 180 feet below the generator floor to the 2,200-foot-long tunnel that was excavated using only lanterns, rudimentary dynamite, pickaxes and shovels when the building was constructed in 1905. For the very first time, guests can now explore the fascinating underground infrastructure, leading to an all-new viewing platform, offering a never-before-seen vantage point of the American, Bridal Veil and Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

And at night, feel the power station come to life with Currents, a light and sound show that delivers an unforgettable experience. As guests walk through the towering turbines, projected images and light around the generator floor react to your movement and tell Niagara’s hydroelectric power story.
