Why I will always celebrate the 4th of July – A Hispanic perspective

The United States has been a nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The United States has opened its doors to more than 50 million Hispanics.

The United States has been the promised land and the dream destination in every Latin American country.

The United States has been the mainstay of freedom in the world.

The United States gave birth to three historical and sacred documents: The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and The Bill of Rights.

The United States has been the only country to elect a black president with a predominant white population.

The United States was the main force in the world that fought Nazism and Communism.

The United States has granted rights and provided opportunities to millions of people around the world.

The United States has been the best example of democracy in the history of mankind.

The United States has been a country inspired by the rule of law and freedom of religion and freedom of expression.

The United States has been the only Western democracy where citizens of Hispanic, Indian and Black origin launched their presidential campaign simultaneously.

The United States was a country founded upon Judeo-Christian principles.

The United States gave birth to presidents like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.

The United States welcomes hundreds of thousands of immigrants from all over the world every year.

The United States brought success and fame to more musicians, athletes, professionals and movie stars of Hispanic origin than any other country in the world.

The United States has been and always will be exceptional and uniquely distinct from other countries. This becomes very clear when you’ve grown up outside the U.S., traveled abroad and studied world history.

The United States has contributed more donations, charity and foreign aid than any other country in the world.

The United States is a country that year after year has recognized, hosted and provided opportunities to Spanish-speaking politicians.

The United States is the country that has adopted the most children around the world.

The United States has been the best friend of Israel, the only stable democracy and true ally of this country in the Middle East.

The United States has been able to improve the standards of living and create progress and prosperity in millions of Hispanic families.

And

The Founding Fathers of the United States declared that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
