According to a recent report by ABC News, Kayla Mueller, the American who was taken hostage by the Islamic State group, was repeatedly tortured and raped by the groupâs leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, before she was murdered earlier this year.
Muellerâs parents, Marsha and Carl, had the news confirmed to them by government officials.
âWe were told Kayla was tortured, that she was the property of al-Baghdadi,â they said. âWe were told that in June by the government.â
In August 2013, the barbarous militants captured Kayla Mueller. They then claimed that she was killed by an airstrike but only produced an image of building rubble as âproofâ of her death.
However, a few days later, Muellerâs parents received definitive proof of her death directly from the terror group, though still no one was certain about her cause of death, according to the report.
It is hard to imagine the pain and suffering Kayla Mueller endured before being put to death by her savage captors. But what makes it that much worse is knowing that President Barack Obama may have been able to prevent it had he not hesitated to rescue her when he had the chance.
According to a report from The Daily Beast in February, Obama knew of the location of Kayla Mueller and other hostages an entire month before he decided to launch a rescue mission. Obama received reports of the location from British intelligence in June 2014 but waited till it was too late, on July 4, to put aa plan into action.
By that time, the Islamic State group had already moved the hostages, all of whom were executed in the following months (H/T Breitbart).
