More Women Carrying Guns Than Ever Before

Ever since Barack Obama assumed the presidency, he started his march towards destroying the Second Amendment and stripping Americans of their guns.  Interestingly, as he spent more efforts to remove guns, the sales of guns and ammunition increased dramatically.  It also seems that the crime rates in the most anti-gun areas of our nation also increased.

When most people think of gun and ammo sales, they generally think about men.  When they think about hunting, they generally think about men.  When most people think about gun magazines and gun clubs, they generally think about men.

Perhaps for the most part that may be true, but they may also be shocked to know that all of these gun related things are becoming more and more popular with women.  Yep, more women are buying guns, hunting, target shooting, belong to gun clubs and buy gun magazines than ever before.

You may be surprised that they even have their own magazine, Women and Guns.  The editors of the magazine estimate that there are around 17 million women gun owners in the US and that number is climbing every day.  A 2011 survey revealed that 61 percent of firearms retailers report seeing a significant increase in the number of women buying guns.  A 2005 Gallup Poll showed that only 13% of women owned a gun. By 2011, over 23% of women owned a gun.

More women are going out hunting with their husbands and others are joining shooting clubs.  A former female secret service agent formed a women’s shooting club called She Can Shoot.  Today they have chapters all over the nation with membership into the thousands.

Another reason more women are buying guns is for protection.  The number of fatherless homes is at an all-time high and many women don’t feel safe without some means of protection.  Amy Hanlon told Fox19 News in Cincinnati that she bought her first gun two years ago and that she travels a lot back forth to West Virginia and takes her gun with her.  She said:

“Men aren’t always there, so who’s there to protect me?”

A female at 2:00 in the morning, basically deserted road. I just felt better having it with me.”

“It’s very powering to know if it’s between you and me, and it’s not gonna be me.”

Another woman interviewed, Erin Albert said:

“If you’re at a gas station and somebody tries to highjack your kids in the back and they have a gun, you have to have a plan.”

Perhaps another reason why so many women are buying guns and learning how to use them is to defend themselves from Obama’s war on women.  But one thing is for sure, more and more women are not only buying guns, but they are obtaining conceal carry permits so they can protect themselves at all times when they are out and about.  And this should be a warning to the degenerates that believe they can do whatever they want to any woman, that his chances of feeling hot lead searing into his flesh are increasing every day.

Seeing this report reminded me of what Thomas Jefferson wrote to Jacob J. Brown in 1808:

“I learn with great concern that [one] portion of our frontier so interesting, so important, and so exposed, should be so entirely unprovided with common fire-arms. I did not suppose any part of the United States so destitute of what is considered as among the first necessaries of a farm-house.”

Jefferson also wrote the following in a letter to John Cartwright in 1824:

“The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that… it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”

I guess Obama and his liberal Democrats have never read the words of our Founding Fathers have they?
