Less Than 25 Percent of West Point Cadets Stood for Obama [VIDEO]

It seems that the lack of respect President Obama has shown the military during his tenure in the Oval Office is finally starting to catch up with him.

The President recently visited West Point to deliver a speech, but it seems not everyone was happy to see the Commander-in-Chief, as many cadets gave him what folks in the media are calling, “a chilly reception.”

Less than 25% of the cadets stood for the president’s introduction, which was clearly intended to send Obama a message: We’re not buying what you’re selling anymore.

This should hardly come as a shock, as the president has been expressing his disdain for the military by cutting their pay, denying some soldiers their benefits, and then doing nothing to correct the recently exposed VA scandal.

Obama had an opportunity to address the situation with the VA during his speech, but completely ignored the topic, opting instead to spout off an odd foreign policy that contradicts itself.

President Obama was welcomed by the Black Knight of the Hudson for his speech at West Point on Wednesday, but less than 25 percent of the cadets gave him a standing ovation upon his introduction, the Daily Mail reported.

“Receiving tepid applause and a short standing ovation from less than one-quarter of the audience upon his introduction, Obama argued for a contradictory foreign policy that relies on NATO and the United Nations while insisting that ‘America must always lead on the world stage,’ the paper reported.

During his speech, which the Wall Street Journal called “consistent with that of every post-Cold War administration,” the president also took a swipe at critics, saying: “I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being. But what makes us exceptional is not our ability to flout international norms and the rule of law; it’s our willingness to affirm them through our actions.”

It’s refreshing to see the future freedom fighters of America demonstrating their displeasure with the president in such a clearly communicated manner. The crowd that Obama addressed are future veterans, and they now understand that the president and his administration aren’t going to honor their sacrifice.

The president deserved the welcome he received, as he has done nothing to earn the respect of the military he was elected to lead. President Obama’s treatment of the military is shameful, and hopefully he got the message that the men and women of the armed forces aren’t going to take the disrespect anymore.
