Dear #NeverTrumpers: This Column MIGHT Convert You (Proceed with CAUTION)

Some appear implacable when it comes to The Combover Candidate.

However, I’m guessing that there are a few who fought against Trump in the primaries who might not sport the deep animus some have developed for Donald.

It’s those to whom I’d like to parlay these three nuggets that came across my path last week for their consideration.

The first of the following three ditties addresses the idea that “Trump’s not conservative” and it comes via Don Fredrick who posted on Facebook, “for all those who say Donald J. Trump is not a Conservative” Don asks …

Securing our borders is not conservative?
Tightening visa controls is not conservative?
Ending sanctuary cities is not conservative?
Keeping out refugees who may be infiltrated by jihadists willing to poison a major city’s water supply is not conservative?
Wanting to deport illegal immigrants who commit felonies is not conservative?
Wanting to eliminate the Department of Education and return control to the states and communities is not conservative?
Wanting to support law enforcement officers is not conservative?
Wanting Europe, Japan, and South Korea to pay more for the defense we provide them is not conservative?
Wanting Europe to pay their fair share for NATO is not conservative?
Wanting the United Nations to not be the Anti-Israel Nations is not conservative?
Wanting to reduce the U.S. share of funding for the United Nations is not conservative?
Wanting to move the U.S embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem, is not conservative?
Wanting to cut corporate taxes and regulations to keep businesses and jobs in the United States is not conservative?
Wanting to cut taxes on middle-class families is not conservative?
Wanting to slash or eliminate the estate tax to save family farms and businesses is not conservative?
Wanting to eliminate ObamaCare is not conservative?
Wanting to allow the sale of health insurance across state lines is not conservative?
Wanting to improve health care for returning veterans is not conservative?
Wanting a tougher stance on foreign trade to help American workers is not conservative?
Wanting to avoid “nation-building” and wars when the United States is not being threatened is not conservative?

By the way, the aforementioned is way more conservative than anything I remember George W, McCain, or precious Mitt ever doing or proposing and did you #NeverTrump people vote for either of those tres amigos?

The second chunk of love I tumbled across, thanks to my buddy Wes, is by Steve Lambert and is addressed to the Christian conservative who has no holy stomach for the self-tanned “heathen” known as, The Donald.

Brace yourself, my brethren, because this might mess up your well-set hair. Steve writes …

I’m discouraged by several Christian friends who are continuing to vow tonight “Never Trump.” I’ve been saying now for some months that we would ALL do well to remember the wisdom of Gamaliel. “Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” Acts 5:38-39.

God has OFTEN used despicable men and unlikely rogues to achieve His divine purpose. This is nothing new and it should not shock any Christian who knows his Bible. Whether it’s for blessing or for judgment we cannot know for sure. But Trump’s candidacy has had all the earmarks of divine inertia for many months now: Everyone from career Republicans and professional Democrats to the liberal media to the intelligentsia and academia to the most despised world leaders such as Kim Jong Un to the elite of Hollywood have united to oppose Trump–and yet his momentum has continued to grow exponentially. None of those groups has a track record of opposing evil and embracing good.

Allow me to interrupt Steve’s rant and interject and expand here, por favor.

As I wrote a few weeks ago, I don’t think most of Christendom’s hailed biblical protagonists would pass the evangelical muster nowadays if we held them to stringent scriptural standards that some Christians are applying to Trump.

For instance: would any evangelicals vote for…

King David knowing that he shagged Bathsheba (another man’s wife) and then had her husband killed? I doubt it. Can you imagine the field day CNN would have with that? Good Lawd!

What about Moses? Moses killed a man, married a black woman, and had massive anger issues. Can you say “deal breaker” for most evangelicals?

What if Samson were on the ticket? Samson dated a hooker, killed Cecil the Lion and had long hair. Can you imagine the melee that would ensue should some candidate have this Nazirite’s track record? OMG. Scandal aplenty for the fastidious among us. But … he was God’s choice and his Judge to lead an ancient Israel for a time.

What about Abraham? This old patriarch constantly lied about being married to his wife and boinked his maid Hagar whose lovechild gave birth to this massive Middle East mess. Not. Very. Conservative.

Then you have Jesus’ fab twelve, whom he chose to change the planet, that were an amalgam of rough cussing fishermen who resembled the crew of Deadliest Catch, or tax-cheats like Matthew. And don’t even get me started on John the Baptist who ate bugs and wore a camel skin.

And the list could go on and on regarding the massive unholy incongruities of fallen men, both redeemed and unredeemed, whom God utilized to shake and shape nations for his righteous purposes. Back to Steve’s musings …

Among those who were learned in the law, Gamaliel offered the ONLY wise counsel. Let’s continue to watch this thing play out and make SURE we don’t find ourselves fighting against God in our pride and certainty that we know what can and cannot be from the Lord.

I am genuinely concerned for Christian friends who are unable or unwilling to allow for the possibility that God has once again chosen an improbable and unlikeable vessel for His divine purpose. AND — I recognize that His purpose MAY BE judgment for our nation — which may be terrible for OUR circumstances but great for His Kingdom’s explosive growth.

We know with 100% certainty what a Hillary presidency will look like. We do not yet know what a Trump presidency will look like…

All I know for certain is that I do *NOT* want to be found fighting against God’s purpose in all this chaos, and that people of faith have had a miserable record of discerning God’s strategy over the course of the last 4000 years. Time and time again, almost without exception, the Bible is filled with stories of faith-community leaders being unable to recognize God’s divine purpose and condemning and attacking His messengers. Even the 12 disciples come off looking like “The Three Stooges” most of the time as they consistently jumped to wrong conclusions with fierce conviction and remained unable to comprehend God’s divine plan even at Calvary.

We are not selecting a pastor or an elder for our church. We are selecting someone to lead this nation. And to be honest, we’ve elected many, MANY solid Christian men and women over the past 20-30 years who have been unable or unwilling to stand for even a moment against the cultural tide that continues to undermine this nation as they have capitulated or even cooperated with those who seek to destroy America.

Finally, here’s a blast from my buddy Ed Kosak, a millennial by the way, who’s a wee bit miffed, as you will see, at the selective rage and amnesia some #NeverTrump peeps appear to have towards Trump but not towards the following.

Here’s a message for my fellow young conservatives and Republicans out there: You might be a ‘cuck’ if…

You say “no real conservative” can vote for Donald Trump, who isn’t a *real* conservative, but happily voted for Bush, McCain, and Romney, neither of whom were or are *real* conservatives either.

You say no “conservative Christian” could vote for a twice-divorced atheist womanizer like Trump, but thought it was totally cool to vote for the active heretic Romney who supports gay adoption and has a record of flip-flopping on the pro-life issue.

You are freaking out more about the prospect of an unrefined, gruff opportunistic New York real estate developer being president than you were about the prospect of a demonstrably anti-white, anti-American communist sympathizer being president.

You’ve ever even considered using the word “racist” to describe anything Donald Trump has said whilst campaigning.

Look, guys. Do I love Trump? No. Do I wish someone else was the GOP nominee? Yes. But the basic fact is that for years y’all did nothing while the GOP was hijacked by people who were content to offshore American jobs and build the bones of a North American superstate, content to put Israeli interests over American interests, or both.

You’ve supported politicians and pundits who despite protesting the left and PC, buy into its very tenants. And you’ve supported people who are content in every circumstance to surrender to the left on social issues if it means the Dow Jones rises.

Basically, for your entire political life, you’ve claimed to be conservative and supported a party and politicians who aren’t. And now you dare have the audacity to complain that the presumptive GOP candidate isn’t a conservative? Where have you been the last 20 years?

And with that I’m done. I hope the preceding gave you something to think and talk about. Thanks for reading.

#NeverHillary

Here is also something else that the #NeverTrumpers might want to read. The author of this is unknown:

“Who is Donald Trump?” The better question may be, “What is Donald Trump?”

The answer? A giant middle finger from average Americans to the political and media establishment.

Some Trump supporters are like the 60s white girls who dated black guys just to annoy their parents. But most Trump supporters have simply had it with the Demo-socialists and the “Republicans In Name Only.” They know there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between Hillary Rodham and Jeb Bush, and only a few cents worth between Rodham and the other GOP candidates.

Ben Carson is not an “establishment” candidate, but the Clinton machine would pulverize Carson ; and the somewhat rebellious Ted Cruz will (justifiably so) be tied up with natural born citizen lawsuits (as might Marco Rubio). The Trump supporters figure they may as well have some fun tossing Molotov cocktails at Wall Street and Georgetown while they watch the nation collapse. Besides – lightning might strike, Trump might get elected, and he might actually fix a few things. Stranger things have happened (the nation elected an islamo-]Marxist in 2008 and Bruce Jenner now wears designer dresses.)

Millions of conservatives are justifiably furious. They gave the Republicans control of the House in 2010 and control of the Senate in 2014, and have seen them govern no differently than Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Yet those same voters are supposed to trust the GOP in 2016? Why?

Trump did not come from out of nowhere. His candidacy was created by the last six years of Republican failures.
No reasonable person can believe that any of the establishment candidates [dems or reps] will slash federal spending, rein in the Federal Reserve, cut burdensome business regulations, reform the tax code, or eliminate useless federal departments (the Departments of Education, Housing and Urban Development, Energy, etc.). Even Ronald Reagan was unable to eliminate the Department of Education. (Of course, getting shot at tends to make a person less of a risk-taker.) No reasonable person can believe that any of the nation’s major problems will be solved by Rodham, Bush, and the other dishers of donkey fazoo now eagerly eating corn in Iowa and pancakes in New Hampshire.

Many Americans, and especially Trump supporters, have had it with:

· Anyone named Bush
· Anyone named Clinton
· Anyone who’s held political office
· Political correctness
· Illegal immigration
· Massive unemployment
· Phony “official” unemployment and inflation figures
· Welfare waste and fraud
· People faking disabilities to go on the dole
· VA waiting lists
· TSA airport groping
· ObamaCare
· The Federal Reserve’s money-printing schemes
· Wall Street crooks like Jon Corzine
· Michelle Obama’s vacations
· Michelle Obama’s food police
· Barack Obama’s golf
· Barack Obama’s arrogant and condescending lectures
· Barack Obama’s criticism/hatred of America
· Valerie Jarrett· ” Holiday trees”
· Hollywood hypocrites
· Global warming nonsense
· Cop killers
· Gun confiscation threats
· Stagnant wages
· Boys in girls’ bathrooms
· Whiny, spoiled college students who can’t even place the Civil War in the correct century… and that’s just the short list.

Trump supporters believe that no Democrat wants to address these issues, and that few Republicans have the courage to address these issues. They certainly know that none of the establishment candidates are better than barely listening to them, and Trump is their way of saying, “Screw you, Hillary Rodham Rove Bush!” The more the talking head political pundits insult the Trump supporters, the more supporters he gains. (The only pundits who seem to understand what is going on are Democrats Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell and Republican John LeBoutillier. All the others argue that the voters will eventually “come to their senses” and support an establishment candidate.)

But America does not need a tune-up at the same old garage. It needs a new engine installed by experts – and neither Rodham nor Bush are mechanics with the skills or experience to install it. Hillary Rodham is not a mechanic; she merely manages a garage her philandering husband abandoned. Jeb Bush is not a mechanic; he merely inherited a garage. Granted, Trump is also not a mechanic, but he knows where to find the best ones to work in his garage. He won’t hire his brother-in-law or someone to whom he owes a favor; he will hire someone who lives and breathes cars.

“How dare they revolt!” the “elites” are bellowing. Well, the citizens are daring to revolt, and the RINOs had better get used to it. “But Trump will hand the election to Clinton !” That is what the Karl Rove-types want people to believe, just as the leftist media eagerly shoved “Maverick” McCain down GOP throats in 2008 – knowing he would lose to Obama. But even if Trump loses and Rodham wins, she would not be dramatically different than Bush or most of his fellow candidates. They would be nothing more than caretakers, not working to restore America ‘s greatness but merely presiding over the collapse of a massively in-debt nation. A nation can perhaps survive open borders; a nation can perhaps survive a generous welfare system. But no nation can survive both – and there is little evidence that the establishment candidates of either party understand that. The United States cannot forever continue on the path it is on. At some point it will be destroyed by its debt.

Yes, Trump speaks like a bull wander[ing] through a china shop, but the truth is that the borders do need to be sealed; we cannot afford to feed, house, and clothe 200,000 Syrian immigrants for decades (even if we get inordinately lucky and none of them are ISIS infiltrators or Syed Farook wannabes); the world is at war with radical Islamists; all the world’s glaciers are not melting; and Rosie O’Donnell is a fat pig.

Is Trump the perfect candidate? Of course not. Neither was Ronald Reagan. But unless we close our borders and restrict immigration, all the other issues are irrelevant. One terrorist blowing up a bridge or a tunnel could kill thousands. One jihadist poisoning a city’s water supply could kill tens of thousands. One electromagnetic pulse attack from a single Iranian nuclear device could kill tens of millions. Faced with those possibilities, most Americans probably don’t care that Trump relied on eminent domain to grab up a final quarter acre of property for a hotel, or that he boils the blood of the Muslim Brotherhood thugs running the Council on American-Islamic Relations. While Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s greatest fear is someone giving a Muslim a dirty look, most Americans are more worried about being gunned down at a shopping mall by a crazed [islamic] lunatic who treats his prayer mat better than his three wives and who thinks 72 virgins are waiting for him in paradise.

The establishment is frightened to death that Trump will win, but not because they believe he will harm the nation. They are afraid he will upset their taxpayer-subsidized apple carts. While Obama threatens to veto legislation that spends too little, they worry that Trump will veto legislation that spends too much.

You can be certain that if an establishment candidate wins in November 2016 … [their] cabinet positions will be filled with the same people we’ve seen before. The washed-up has-beens of the Clinton and Bush administrations will be back in charge. The hacks from Goldman Sachs will continue to call the shots. Whether it is Bush’s Karl Rove or Clinton ‘s John Podesta, who makes the decisions in the White House will matter little.
If the establishment wins, America loses.
