Now you can go to PRISON just for saying this

transgender_rights_1400In New York City, you’ll soon be opened up to the possibility of a $250,000 fine for the “crime” of “misgendering” somebody. It sounds crazy — but there was one transgender teacher in Oregon who was recently awarded 60,000 after being “misgendered” by her colleagues. Good for liberals for finally figuring out a way to earn over $15 an hour?

Still, at least those costs are only monetary. It’s not like anyone would suggest taking a page from any dictator’s playbook and throw any political dissenters in prison, right?

Enter: Canada.

The Christian Post reports:

Canada’s Liberal Party government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has introduced a bill that would ban transgender discrimination, including both gender identity and gender expression, with up to two years in prison for violators.

The bill seeks to amend the Canadian Criminal Code to expand existing “hate speech” prohibitions to include any public speech or communication that “promotes hatred” on the basis of “gender identity” or “gender expression,” and also the Canadian Human Rights Act, to cover transgender people.

“As a society, we have taken many important steps toward recognizing and protecting the legal rights for the LGBTQ2 community – from enshrining equality rights in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to the passage of the Civil Marriage Act.”

Well geez — isn’t he bigoted for not being inclusive to the entire LGBTQIA2XYZ772+ community? But seriously, when did the “2” get added onto the acronym?

Without their own equivalent of a First Amendment, you have all kind of crazy scenarios coming out of Canada, such as a man who was subject to a lawsuit lasting years for disagreeing with feminists on Twitter, or a street preacher who was convicted for handing out flyers denouncing homosexual behavior.

Canada needs to get its act together. If Hillary Clinton is elected president, where else are we supposed to move?
