Several liberal media outlets have ignored well-documented cases of violence towards Trump supporters and instead have been focusing on unconfirmed reports of Trump supporters attacking minorities.
The New York Times Editorial Board published a story Thursday titled, “Denounce the Hate, Mr. Trump.” “Explicit expressions of bigotry and hatred by Trump supporters were common throughout the campaign, and they have become even more intense since his election. On a department-store window in Philadelphia, vandals spray-painted ‘Sieg Heil 2016’ and Mr. Trump’s name written with a swastika. In a Minnesota high-school bathroom, vandals scrawled the Trump campaign slogan, ‘Make America Great Again,’ and next to it, ‘Go back to Africa,” the NY Times editorial board wrote.
They added, “There are many more reports pouring in of verbal and physical harassment of Muslims, Latinos and other members of minorities.” Even though the New York Times editorial board members admitted that they are all “not all are verifiable, ” they said, “the atmosphere of intimidation and fear is unquestionably real and will keep growing. Mr. Trump may not be able to stop it by himself, but he must do everything he can.”

The New York Times has not reported on verifiable incidents of violence against Trump supporters and has not asked Hillary Clinton to denounce that violence. They have not reported on the Chicago man beaten while onlookers yelled things like, “Don’t vote Trump!”
They have also not reported on the flood of Trump assassination threats, or a video of a high school student being attacked for supporting Trump.
CNN and Rolling Stone have likewise written articles about unverified claims of pro-Trump violence and ignored documented violence. CNN wrote about a college student who said a man tore off her hijab. It was recently reported a similar claim at a Louisiana university was a hoax.
Rolling Stone focused on various tweets about alleged racist acts, but as Reason has pointed out, few of these incidents have been reported to police.
