Venezuela has been rife with corruption and scandal of late as Nicolás Maduro’s regime continues to ignore international criticism of fraudulent elections and historically bad inflation. The latest controversy, though, has to do with something a bit smaller — a product that has started appearing in food boxes for Venezuelans suffering from the country’s shortage crisis.

“CLAP” boxes — named for the program that oversees their delivery — usually contain pasta, rice, powdered milk and other basic necessities that are difficult to get in supermarkets now. But those boxes have started showing up on peoples’ doorsteps with a creepy white bottle of deodorant.

It’s called “Eyes of Chavez” and must be one of the most ridiculous and transparent attempts at propaganda that Maduro’s regime has tried to date. The outside of the bottle reads, “Waters of the Commander” above a pair of black and white eyes.

Needless to say, it’s gotten a fair amount of attention on Twitter, and not because of its effectiveness in combatting body oder.

The CLAP food boxes were created in Venezuela to address the alleged “economic war” being waged against the country, which has resulted in overwhelming food shortage and malnutrition. But the program, like many others in Venezuela, have fallen victim to corruption.

Recent reports revealed that Maduro owns a company that supplies CLAP with products, marking up the prices for personal profit. Now it seems that he’s trying to push a socialist ideology on the same people who are suffering from it.

Do you want to smell like an un-buried dead man? Try “Aguas del Comandamente” the new socialist deodorant to be included in CLAP.

Aguas del Comandante, for when you want to feel fresh but like a dictator at the same time.

Do you smell like a sheep??? Body odor after marching, dancing, and protesting??? use Aguas del comandante!!!
