President Trump is tweeting again after the latest terror attack in London – and the Left is apoplectic. Here’s Trump’s latest tweetstorm:

Now, you may think that Trump’s tweetstorm doesn’t make an awful lot of sense. How, for example, does he plan to “cut off and use better” the internet? If he wants a harsher travel ban, he’s the president – can’t he just sign a new executive order?
But the blowback to Trump’s tweetstorm has been extraordinarily strong. Meanwhile, we’re supposed to be comforted by the platitudes of London’s mayor, who explained, “We will not allow terrorists to divide our communities. We will never allow terrorists to succeed…My message to Londoners is to be alert, to be vigilant, not to be alarmed, but to stay calm at all times.”
Really? This is the fifth terrorist attack on London in a year. Here’s the list:
- October 20, 2016: Police explode an IED on a subway in North Greenwich after it failed to go off. The terrorist, Damon Smith, was reportedly a new devotee of Islam.
- March 22, 2017: Terrorist Khalid Masood drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster bridge and then jumped out and began stabbing people. Five people died, including a police officer.
- June 3, 2017: Terrorists drove into pedestrians on the London Bridge, then began stabbing people in surrounding restaurants. Eight people were killed.
- June 19, 2017: A terrorist rammed a van into people near the Finsbury Park Mosque after prayers. One person died.
This does not take into account the Manchester Arena bombing.
So, what exactly does Khan plan to do about security? What does the British government plan to do, other than mouth idiocies about terrorists “dividing our communities”?
This is the question that drives people into Trump’s camp. It’s not that Trump has a well-thought-out solution. It’s that he seems unwilling to grant credence to the notion that a stiff upper lip will somehow dissuade terrorists from murdering innocent people. Perhaps Trump should have shut up until more information was out there; perhaps he should have shut up until he had an actual plan. But to passionately condemn his rhetoric while ignoring the more damaging ostrich-head-in-the-sand politics of the Left seems pretty ridiculous.
