Tim received shocking news about his mum’s true identity on Coronation Street

Geoff’s ex wife Elaine Jones has arrived on the Coronation Street cobbles as Yasmeen Nazir awaits trail for his attempted murder, and it’s emerged that she’s Tim Metcalfe’s real mum.

Elaine fled after suffering abuse at the hands of vile Geoff, leaving her baby boy Tim behind.

And Geoff went on to feed his son a pack of lies that his mum had died.

Elaine, whose real name is Philippa, visited Yasmeen in prison and told her that she too had been abused by the bullying magician.

Yasmeen’s granddaughter Alya was delighted to hear that Elaine will be giving evidence at her trial, but a meeting with Tim was less positive.

Tim, who is refusing to believe that his dad is an abuser, was angry to be told that she was his mum.

“My dad’s first wife died and she wasn’t even called Elaine,” he snapped.

“I changed my name when I ran for my life,” she told him.

Defending Geoff, Tim told her that he’d been raised by a woman called Tess, and Elaine explained that she was his dad’s mistress and that she had caught them together.

Standing by his dad’s story, he couldn’t stand to hear any more and threw Elaine out of the Street Cars office.

Confiding in Alya, Elaine previously broke down on Corrie as she revealed that she was forced to give up Tim when he was just a baby after suffering a torrent of abuse from Geoff like Yasmeen has.

Next week Elaine, played by Paula Wilcox, introduces herself to Tim’s wife Sally in the cafe and explains that she’s his mum and it broke her heart to abandon him but Geoff made her life a living hell.

Sally urges her not to give up on Tim as one day he’ll understand, but as Elaine heads to Street Cars looking for Tim, she’s horrified when Geoff approaches.

He insists she’s a mad woman and he has no idea who she is, insisting to police that his first wife is dead.

Meanwhile Sally begs Tim to accept Elaine could well be telling the truth.
