Chargers vs. Vikings prediction: Los Angeles a live road underdog

The Los Angeles Chargers are 0-2, but a couple of plays and five points away from being 2-0.

This Sunday, they will try to get in the win column when they travel to Minnesota.

Like most human beings, Iā€™m not a fan of Chargers coach Brandon Staley.

Iā€™ve always said when a team loses a lot of close games, itā€™s not a fluke.

It comes down to coaching decisions late in games, and Staley is one of the worst in that area.

Still, I have a hard time believing this line should be even.

If the Chargers had won those two games, they would be laying three points on the road.

Though I see a bit of value with the spread, the main reason for the pick is Iā€™m down on the Vikings overall this season.

Offensive line issues and a defense that still allows too many big plays continue to hinder the Vikings.

In losses to Tampa Bay and Philadelphia, Minnesotaā€™s defense allowed an average of 27 points.

The Chargersā€™ defense has been even worse, giving up 31 points per game, which is why the total for this game is 54 points ā€” by far the highest on the board. In a shootout, I give the edge to Justin Herbert and the Chargersā€™ offense. Look for Herbert to make enough plays in the passing game to get the win.

The play: Chargers, +1
