Malika Andrews gets restraining order against man who allegedly sent disturbing messages

ESPN host Malika Andrews has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who has allegedly been terrorizing her and other ESPN talents.

Andrews claimed that Ahmed Abubakar, a 41-year-old man from New Jersey, has persistently been sending disturbing messages to her and ESPN colleagues Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Andrews, the host of “NBA Today” and “NBA Countdown” for ESPN, said in the court documents that Abubakar was arrested last month in Connecticut for showing up unprompted to Qerim’s home.

In addition to sending her unsolicited messages through social media over the past year, Abubakar allegedly obtained Andrews’ unlisted phone number this past summer and contacted her there numerous times.

At first, according to TMZ, Andrews believed Abubakar to be an “overzealous fan” before the messages grew darker.

The outlet included screenshots of disturbing messages that Abubakar allegedly sent Andrews through Instagram.

In them, Abubakar allegedly accused Andrews of getting him arrested.

“You lied to police you b—h saying you never met me,” the screenshotted message read.

“I hope endometriosis destroys all your genital organs so that you never get a man, and you sickening obsession with money. My lawyer is going to sue you and make sure you send me 5000 dollars.

“I am gonna have to prove extortion against you. you scammed me like a thief for 5000 dollars you gold digging seeking b—h and w—e. You keep secrets from me, you lie to me on few instances, and you broke numerous promises by asking me for money. you are f–ked up off camera.”

Andrews requested that Abubakar stay 100 yards away from her, her fiance and ESPN colleague Dave McMenamin, and Smith.

The temporary restraining order was granted by a judge and there will be a hearing later in October.

A rep for Andrews and a spokesperson for ESPN declined to comment to The Post.
