Gunfire rang out inside a Big Apple subway station Tuesday when a man intervened during a dispute between a 40-year-old woman and a panhandler, police said.
The alleged shooter pulled the trigger after he approached the panhandler who was arguing with the woman at the 49th Street subway station in Times Square around 9:15 p.m., according to authorities.
Itβs unclear how many shots were fired, but no one was struck, police said. A source told The Post the gunman only fired off a single shot.
The panhandler was taken into custody with charges pending, and the alleged shooter is still being sought, the NYPD said.Β
