Ex-GOP candidate for PA lt gov, ‘parental rights’ advocate allegedly punched teen in the face during boozy birthday party she threw for daughter, 17

A former GOP candidate for lieutenant governor in Pennsylvania and right-wing “parental rights” activist allegedly slugged a teenager in the face and fed underage minors booze at a birthday bash she threw for her daughter.

Clarice Schillinger, 36, allegedly punched a 16-year-old boy in the face three times during the Sep. 29 party that ran past midnight and was charged about a month later with simple assault, harassment and providing alcohol to minors, according to a police affidavit unveiled by the Bucks County Courier Times Thursday.

Schillinger’s mother, Danette Bert, and her then-boyfriend Shan Wilson also faced charges of simple assault and harassment.

Her “intoxicated mother” allegedly hit a teen in the eye and the ex-beau is accused of punching the same teen in the face and assaulting another young attendee, the affidavit states.

Those charges were later withdrawn, and Bert and Wilson instead reportedly pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in December.

The alleged violence was sparked after Schillinger provided between 15 and 20 minors “New Amsterdam vodka and Malibu Bay Breeze rum” in the basement of her Doylestown home to celebrate her daughter’s 17th birthday, police alleged.

“Schillinger not only provided the alcoholic beverages but poured shots and drank along with the minors even participating in drinking games,” the affidavit published by the Daily Beast states.

The one-time political candidate encouraged her teenage daughter’s friends to take shots with her and played beer pong with the high schoolers, according to the document.

But the celebration turned sour when “a disturbance broke out between the intoxicated adults,” making the teens want to leave the home, cops said.

The event spiraled out of control from that point on.

Wilson allegedly slugged a 15-year-old in the face and then Bert reportedly threw the next punch and chased a different teen around the kitchen. She’s also accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl, according to the police record.

Schillinger ordered her daughter’s friends to stay in the house. When they gathered near the front door to leave, she allegedly lunged at the group and punched the teen three times on the left side of his face, police alleged.

Multiple cellphone videos of portions of the assaults were obtained by investigators, according to the record.

Schillinger’s lawyer, Matthew Brittenburg, said his client looked forward to fighting the charges in a statement to the Courier Times.

“Ms. Schillinger has dedicated her life to public service,” Brittenburg said. “Additionally, she has always been a law-abiding citizen. Ms. Schillinger looks forward to the opportunity to defend against these allegations.”

The drunken assault was not the first time cops were called to Schillinger’s address. Just five days earlier, police showed up at her door for a report of possible underage drinking and found beer cans scattered around the property and spotted 20 minors fleeing inside the house.

“On that date, Schillinger was intoxicated and uncooperative with police,” the affidavit states.

She began leading a state political action committee in 2021 dedicated to electing school board members who were against mitigation efforts in school buildings amid the COVID-19 pandemic after she was head of another, smaller PAC that fought to get students back to in-person learning.

She then became the executive director of a federal PAC called Back to School USA. Its goal was to battle “liberal teachers’ unions and special interest groups that are responsible for indoctrinating our children.”

“Back To School USA is really going to be focused on putting candidates in place that will put our children and their education first,” Schillinger said in 2022, according to the Buck County Courier. “Right now, we are not doing that. We are more focused on these woke and gender ideas.”

Pennsylvania venture capitalist, Paul Martino, provided funds for the state PAC and worked with Schillinger on the national one, but told the newspaper this week that Back To School USA “never got off the ground” because other projects were more important.
