Will There Be A ‘Death and Other Details’ Season 2?

The Hulu mystery series Death and Other Details follows a famous detective and his protégé as they solve a murder mystery that transforms into something bigger.

Created by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, the first season contains 10 episodes, which aired from Jan. 16, 2024 to Mar. 5, 2024.

Mandy Patinkin stars as Detective Rufus Cotesworth with Violett Beane as Imogene Scott, Lauren Patten as Anna Collier, and Rahul Kohli as Sunil Bhandari.

The all-star cast continues with Hugo Diego Garcia, Linda Emond, David Marshall Grant, and Linda Edmond.

The two-episode finale, “Chapter Nine: Impossible” and “Chapter Ten: Chilling,” ends on a major cliffhanger that sets up for more to come.

Will Imogene keep digging into the mysteries of her life? Will the Collier family continue to pay for their wrongdoings?

Here’s everything you need to know about the future of this buzzy show.

Will There Be A Death and Other Details Season 2?

As of now, Hulu has not ordered a second season of Death and Other Details, but the first season has just wrapped so there’s still plenty of time.

That said, Hulu is not immune to cancelations and recently canceled the Chris Estrada comedy This Fool after two seasons. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cancelation came roughly six months after the second season premiered.

Hulu announced several cancelations and renewals last year with Reasonable Doubt and Nine Perfect Strangers nabbing second seasons and shows like Reboot, The Great, and Up Here facing premature endings.

But there’s good news! The show creators of Death and Other Details are optimistic and have already begun working on future episodes, despite the second season not being confirmed yet. While speaking with Town & Country, Weiss said, “We have some top secret hopes and dreams… some of those, some of those hopes and dreams are based in those last two episodes. And so we don’t want to spoil it for you.”

He added, “Look, not every character in the pilot is going to survive the first season, but for the characters who are lucky enough to survive the very dangerous cruise that they find themselves on, they’re gonna go off and they’re going to take on more mysteries together as a unit.”

Sounds like Imogene and Rufus have more mysteries to solve.

Death and Other Details is currently streaming on Hulu.
