2nd Visa Lottery Recipient to Attack Big Apple in Last 6 Weeks.

On Monday, an ISIS-inspired Islamic terrorist tried to blow up a subway terminal in Times Square with a homemade pipe bomb that malfunctioned. He told police he targeted that particular walkway because there were Christmas images present. Six weeks earlier, on another national holiday, Halloween, a jihadist was on the loose, ramming a rented truck into pedestrians, killing eight. Both foreigners entered the U.S. under President Obama and the Democrat’s visa lottery program.

Yesterday’s failed attack was perpetrated by Akayed Ullah, a Bangladeshian, who came into the country in 2011 thanks to a relative who had “won” the diversity visa lottery. The Uzbekistan national that launched the Halloween attack, Sayfullo Saipov, entered the U.S. in 2010 under the lottery and brought 23 “family members” with him.

The diversity visa lottery began in the ‘90s as the brainchild of Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer. Between 2005 and 2015, over a half a million foreigners crossed our borders. However, that number doesn’t include spouses, children, or anyone else that tagged along through chain migration exploitation.

President Trump renewed the call for a merit-based system after yesterday’s attempted jihad in NYC:

“America must fix its lax immigration system, which allows far too many dangerous, inadequately vetted people to access our country. Today’s terror suspect entered our country through extended-family chain migration, which is incompatible with national security.”

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders added, “The president’s policy calls for an end to chain migration, which is what this individual came to the United States through. And if his policy had been in place, then that attacker would not have been allowed to come in the country.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said:

“We have now seen two terrorist attacks in New York City in less than two months that were carried out by people who came here as the result of our failed immigration policies that do not serve the national interest.

“The 20-year-old son of the sister of a U.S. citizen should not get priority to come to this country ahead of someone who is high-skilled, well-educated, has learned English, and is likely to assimilate and flourish here. It is a failure of logic and sound policy not to adopt a merit-based immigration system.”

Uzbekistan was the 8th-highest nation represented by diversity visa recipients to the U.S. in 2015. Bangladesh has since been cut off from the lottery program because too many are coming to the U.S. through other programs, according to The Washington Times. Over 10,000 Bangladeshians have entered the U.S. every year since 2009. In 2016, over 18,000 chain-migrated.

And yet, Sen. Schumer doesn’t think his program is to blame: “Today was a startling reminder of why the ‘see something, say something’ campaign is so crucial to keeping our cities safe, and why we must always remain vigilant against the threat of terrorism.”

Hey Chuck, we see something — terrorists coming in through your disastrous program. And now we’re saying something — end your disastrous program now.
